"Beric's life," he said. "You've been gone a lot; Ben. Time didn't stop in Westeros while you were in Qarth or wherever." He shrugged. "I'm sure your father will tell you."

/// Walking the camp her mood was still a bit somber. The events of the past few months had changed things. All Raven wanted now was a drink and to maybe spar to release her frustration and anger.
She could see that the whole of the North was there, she began trying to find the sigil of her father's house. She needed to speak with him, tell her about the years she had downy away, what she had seen and she was in deep need of his counsel. Raven smiled as she approached the tent flap. "Father?!", she smiled at the word", may I come in?"

Lord Horace smiles. "It's been a long time," he said. He is in his middle forties and massive like his kin. "You are probably too soft for a bear hug now!"

"I will speak to him then," Benjen said with a firm nod. "What's been happening here then? Tell me of the men you and Hector have been hunting down. And what is going on at the damn Wall?"

Laughing in his huge grip,"Father... I am so glad to see you. It has been far too long, how are you?" Raven buried her face in his cloak.
She looked at him with a smile,"I have many things to tell you since I have been galavanting around with Prince Benjen."

Kalvin shook his head. "A bunch of black brothers decided to try usurping the lord commander's authority, apparently. He wrote me that they had been dealt with. I guess they were still stuck on the wildlings issue. Your brother reminded me of you for a bit there," he said. "Only he's smarter than us knuckle draggers." He laughed.
"Many things to tell you about gallivanting with Lord Kalvin," his booming voice said. "You look like company has done you well, Raven!"

"Hey now, don't lump me in with you," Benjen responded with a grin. "But Hector has always been a brain with a body - no doubt he'll make a good lord one day."

"Many things to tell you about gallivanting with Lord Kalvin," his booming voice said. "You look like company has done you well, Raven!" "I'd be glad to hear about them when you have a moment, of course", she chuckled", but truth be told being in the company of the Prince has probably made me a better fighter than you." Raven winked at get father.

"Not bloody likely," the huge man said. "Maybe better than your brothers." He looked at her. "So tell me what you've done in his service."
//
Kalvin shrugged. "He could be. Given land and a kee....you know, I guess I just solved your Daena dilemma," he said with an evil grin.

"Gods no..." Benjen said, staring at Kalvin. "My bastard's mother is already my sister in law - I do not need my younger brother being my bastard son's step father. Also, Hector can be jealous. I doubt he would wish to marry the mother of his elder brother's child."

"Oh come on," Kalvin said. "I imagine one look at those tits on her and he'd be fine with the proposal. Taking one for the family and all," he said. "More importantly, it means I don't have to do anything with the situation. How about that Mudd fellow? I bet he'd be honored. A real princess and everything. I like the guy. He deserves someone rich like her. He'd be perfect." Clearly Kalvin is not going to take this one easily.

"That is an idea," Benjen said. "I'll have to think on it. The boy is going to Winterfell though - he can't be at Eddard's Rest."

"Cassana won't like her nephew?" Kalvin asked. "I mean, it seems a curious line to draw, no offense intended," he laughed. "He can come to Winterfell, but truth be told I'm almost never there, myself. Valerie and Melysa run the damn place now."

"The boy is older than my heir," Benjen responded. "I already angered everyone when I made that inheritance deal with the Lannisters. I'm not going to bring a bastard from a different Targaryen woman to my home. As for Winterfell... well, a woman's touch won't harm him and he'll make good friends with Beric."

Kalvin shrugged. "All right then." He looks about. "I'm going to wash up. There's too much alcohol aorund these parts. I need to make sure the kids don't get their hands on it," he said. "I'm civically responsible."
