"Master Denys, the man who that burning manse belongs to," Amelia said to the soldier, somewhat impatiently. She turns to Faeron. "We need to stop it! How many men does he have, do you know? This antidote you made, we need to mass produce it!"

"Thousands...more...don't know!" He said. "The cure will take ages to produce! My notes...all ashes!" The soldier asks some questions.
"My lady...the building is full of...well, we haven't seen him."

"How much of it do you remember?" Amelia asked Faeron, before frowning. "He was just... damn it!"
She turned to make her way to the manor, looking around to see if she could find Denys anywhere.

Soldiers are fighting the fire. Denys is barking at them to save what they can, clutching a bleeding wound at his side. The estate seems a total loss. Kidneys, back with Faeron, sees him collapse and continue raving about doom and gloom and the icy dead and whatever nonsense he can spew.

Amelia came up to her husbands side and placed a hand on his shoulder. "You are wounded, Denys, you need tending to." She stared at the flames. "Your shouts cannot extinguish this..."
Lisenya stared at Faeron for a moment before going into her bag. As well as poisons she had various remedies, among them a small bottle that contained a calming herbal extract. She opened it and held it under Faeron's nose for a moment. "Breath in." She instructed.

Denys curses. "Who were they?" He growls. "Years of building...undone." His voice is low and finally the real ruthlessness is bared. "Their heads will be the bricks of my new manse."
Faeron snorts and then shakes his head. "Gods above," he whispered, "what is coming for us?"

"I am sorry," Amelia said, before nodding. "We will hunt them down and make them suffer. I... I fear they were originally part of a group of assassins who came after house Stark. What they are now, I don't know."
Lisenya stoppered the bottle and put it away. "Something large, no? Something we must prepare for. Something you must have a clear brain for."

Denys shook his head. "There are no Starks here. No," he looked at her. "They wanted something else. That cure." He narrowed his eyes. "We will go to my ship and prepare."
Faeron nods. "We need them now. The other sorcerers. I...I cannot face this man. This god."

"Of course," Amelia said with a nod. "Your assets... how high do you think the losses will be?"
Lisenya nodded. "This Lyria woman? And the sorcerers of Asshai. I do not speak their language but many others, so if an envoy is needed I would be willing to assist."

"No, Asshai...they have done much worse. My siblings...the others..." He passes out.
Denys grimaced. "In gold? A few million dragons. In information? The loss is incalculable."

Lisenya frowned, before finding some people to help her carry Faeron to a nearby tavern, where she tended to the man.
Amelia's frown deepened. "That whirlwind... it is Oriax's work. He did this. Knowledge is power and he wants us to have none."

Denys frowned. "No man has that sort of might save my cousin. And I am far beneath his interest. If this Oriax is that dangerous, we will need help of an order even I cannot buy."

Amelia sighed and stretched, feeling the stress in her whole body. "And can you think of what sort of help there could be? I know Faeron has associates and... people he knows."

"He has always been useless in times of stress," Denys cursed. "Lyria is powerful enough to help but may not want to, Morgan is...well, Morgan is unreliable on his best days, but the Order is the only force which has integrated any form of higher mysteries into its very being. Perhaps the Citadel's center for the higher arts. I don't know," he said. "I'm no strategist for these sorts of things."

"Perhaps I shall speak to the Order then," Amelia mused. "First however, the North. I want to know what is going on beyond the Wall. I can guess, but I want to see it with my own eyes."
