"That sounds perfect," Benjen said to Sirius. "A good commander should know how to use any type of troop and I have certainly never commanded Dothraki before." He set his glass down.
"Vhagus, I have a question. My son with Daena Targaryen, is he well? I have not seen him here in Meereen."

Vhagus chuckles at that, mostly because he doesn't seem to have expected the question. "She named him Rhaegar, but then she does have a finely developed sense of her own worth," he said. "He is a right terror among the children his age, I hear. He is in Mantarys, and is safe as far as I have heard. The princess dotes on him too hard, perhaps he needs a father's more virtuous hand."

"I would like to send him to Winterfell," Benjen stated, the tone of his voice showing that he was adamant. "I fostered with Lord Rickon when I was young and learned to fight from Kal Stark. Kal's own son Beric seems similar to Rhaegar so no doubt the two would get on well. For reasons that are obvious he cannot stay at Eddard's Rest."

"You'll have to take that up with your sister in law," Vhagus said. "I see no issue with it. I've heard Lord Kalvin is quite the warrior, with the finest army in the lands of Westeros. A suited foster father if a child must learn to fight." He coughed.

"I will send word to her then," Benjen responded. "I will teach the boy some things myself, once I am free to do so, but Kal will be a suitable foster father."
That and the Lord of Winterfell would no doubt instill a sense of loyalty in the Targaryen half blood. "When do we fly east?"

"Whenever you want," Sirius said. "Rhaegys is always ready for a good flight." Vhagus grimaces again.
"I must fly west to Tyrosh and Pentos. If you wish word of this truce to pass around. Those superstitious fops in Pentos despise my using magical communications with them."

"Soon then," Benjen stated. "How long will your journey to Tyrosh and Pentos take? I can await your return before we fly east and show these Yi Ti'ish men what we are made of."

"A month will suffice, then. We shall come with the king's legion." Vhagus nods. "They will find you a different foe. My infantry is rather uninspired."

"If it is alright with you I would like to fly out to your troops a little sooner, get to know them," Benjen suggested. "I will have to adjust the way I do things on the battlefield."

Vhagusand shrugs. "I cannot wait to return to my former forces waving about dire wolf banners," he said in a slight joking tone. "Do as you will."

Benjen smiled and nodded, before finishing his wine and rising. "If you will excuse me, my wife and I have arrangements. I trust we will speak again before you fly to the Free Cities."

"If you wish," the emperor said. "I am not hard to find." He and Sirius begin to discuss more mundane matters about trade and such.
