Personal History: Connor was born a third son, and as such succeeding his father as Lord of Bitterbridge always seemed like remote possibility to him. Not that Connor particularly minded. Bitterbridge was a wealthy and influential house, and Connor enjoyed the fruits of that privilege without the drudgery of responsibility. He was left largely to his own interests.
Chief among those interests was jousting. At a tournament held to celebrate his eldest brother's wedding, Connor upstaged the groom by defeating him and a small but capable field at the tender age of fifteen. Following that victory, Connor decided to take his show on the road. He travelled through the Goldlands, the Kingslands, and even the southern North, following the road from tourney to tourney. Connor acquitted himself very well. He won purses great and small, forged friendships with knights from around Westeros, and built his reputation as a chivalrous man, but one to be feared in the lists.
But Westeros was beginning to change. The roads grew more dangerous. Lords began saving their gold for wars, not tourneys. And Connor missed his home. Peace still reigned when Connor returned home, but it would be only a year before the first of the fighting broke out.
Used to the pageantry and chivalry of the lists, war was a harsh awakening for Connor. While the lands and levies of House Caswell came through Westeros' wars in better shape than most Reach houses, the family Caswell suffered grievously. Connor's eldest brother was slain at King's Landing, his second brother on the Green Fields of the Reach, and his lord father in Dorne. But through these hardships Connor learned leadership, and by the end of the wars he commanded not only Caswell men, but the remainder of the Reach's cavalry as a whole.
At the war's end, the new Lord of Bitterbridge returned to his keep, the future before him uncertain, with much cause to re-evaluate his priorities.
Appearance: Connor is a tall and handsome man. He keeps his brown hair tied back and his jaw clean-shaven. He has a small scar running through his left eyebrow (ironically sustained not at war, but at the jousting lists many years ago).
Reputation: Connor is one of the favored sons of the Reach. Once he was chiefly known for his lancing skills, and any knight who travelled the tourney circuit at the same time as Caswell has likely met him. The tourneys seem less important after the war which has gripped Westeros, and many will know him more contemporaneously as the valiant cavalry commander for the Reach.
