"Then we have much to discuss," Orlys said. "We have a saying in Volantis about tigers roaring. The tigers have been silent."

She swirled around the drink in her cup. "I agree. I imagine that the Old Blood has too much pride to bend to any dragon. Is that true?"
She leaned forward and set down her empty cup. "The problem with lots of discussion is that it can lead to bickering. The sisters and past alliances fell apart due to it. Fortunately Lys speaks with one voice and it has simple wants and needs."

"Simple can be accommodated," he agreed amiably. "Volantis has simple needs as well."

"Good." She smiled. "So long as those needs and wants align then all parties can move forward with satisfaction."

Bannen nods. "Or at least most of them. Volantis wants to go east, but we must ensure that the west is secure first, whether through Westerosi unification or our sisters reclaiming their lands."

"The lands of Westeros, the Prince has been curious about the Volantene obsession with those peoples. His dealings with the Ironborn did impress upon him their fighting spirit, an admirable quality. Everything else though, leaves a lot to be desired. Can they rule themselves or do they need our help to show them?"
"Lys would also like to look east at the urging of the new princess so it does seem our visions align."

Bannen frowned. "We had our candidate for the throne of the kingdoms defeated, with some help," he added pointedly. "His heir sits in Volantis even now, a cruel little monster but he could have his uses. For now though, I suppose they lack the sea power to matter too much. No, the threats are east, Vhagus and Ghis."

"I agree, we would need to baby them every step of the way here. A time consuming investment. After all, their war has probably destroyed their will to fight and muster any meaningful sized force. From the tales the prince has heard, parts of the continent lay in ruin without enough people to even work the land."
"The Ironborn have not moved on Myr. I don't think they are likely to come here."

"No doubt the Tyroshi believed the same," Bannen said. "But I will trust your judgment." He nodded. "I will return to Volantis shortly with word of this discussion. You should visit when you can."

"They are more likely to come to Lys from what the prince has heard." She said offhandedly, "And yes, I would like to visit Volantis next. I would like to go over land but my escort is at sea."

Bannen nodded. "Well, escorts can be arranged whenever you desire," he said. "Even Vhagus and his armies have never come close to severing the lands of the Free Cities."

"Very well, I'll take the more scenic route once I've finished here. Thank you for the drink, and your time of course. It was quite a productive talk."

Bannen nods. "Yes it has." He finishes his drink and escorts her out.
