Kain enters. He is in his middle thirties and a longtime guardsman. He bows. "My lady."

Ami greets the man with a smile, wearing a tight black dress.
"Captain, please sit. Can I offer you a drink?"

"Well I am here now and things will be changing," Amelia assured him. "There will be some money coming soon, from Braavos, but we need to bolster the city guard and weed out those that are corruptible. And the ones doing the corrupting."

Kain nods. "When we get the gold we'll be able to give some of the men some back pay and bring in some real professionals," he said. "For the moment the sellswords we're using are reliable enoug but too expensive in the long term, and their loyalty is to gold and not the city." He looks at her another moment. "The Pentoshi and Ironborn and pirates all around the Vale are cutting into trade hard, too." He shakes his head. "Lot of problems," he sums up.
