"I imagine people know how carefully your father manages his family," he said. "Your sisters did not wed minor lords, and there are not many eligible great lords left."

"Indeed, they married royalty, Kings and princes, which, if I am to live up to that leaves only one option of all the families left in westeros," she kept her tone even, but looked at him with steely eyes.

He shrugged. "I'm sure you can lower yourself to a mere great lord," he said with a grin. "Although the wolves' blood is strong in you."

"Arryn it is then," she grinned back, abd rolled to her front, half on top of him, being careful of his arm, "after all, the people of the vale love me, other great lords people may not look upon me so favourably, considering the troubles my brother has caused them."

"You would be a legend," he agrees. "Us northmen are crude and colder than frost anyway." He fake shivers.

"I love the North," she said then kissed the exposed skin by his collar, "crude definitely, but cold? ... I am not feeling that. Out of my hands anyway..."

"HAs your father ever refused you before?" Kalvin asked. "He seems to give you a fairly long chain," he laughs.

"Once or twice," she said, looking at him, "when I have wanted to do admittedly foolish things... And I am not kept on a chain of any length,"

"Is that why you're here?" he asked. "To prove that you will take what you want, when you want it? I have been accused if behaving in a similar manner."

"Does that mean you don't want me?" She asked bluntly, siting up a bit on her elbow.

"When did I ever say that?" he said. "I did just try taking you as a lover, not ten minutes ago."

"And not ten days ago, you rejected my advances." she pointed out with a shrug, "talking about you having one of allies killed in battle... is not what i heard most pillow talk encompasses"

"We are not typical pillow talkers," he said. "And pillow talk is done after the advances are consummated, by the way. This is just awkward seduction, I think." He leaned his head back. "I told you I'd go talk to your father, as I recall. And Bryce was alive then. That bastard being dead has made me a new man."

"Showing my inexperience then" She replied without humour, "I'll have to see if this new man is the kind of man I want talking to my father about such things. I am not some simpering little girl you can blow hot and cold on as you feel like, if marriage to you is you going to be a dictatorship rather than a partnership, then I am not sure now." She raised an eyebrow, " besides, you are going south so see your wife... and I am heading beyond the Wall."

"Beyond the Wall?" he said, rising up in a bit of genuine shock, "what the hell is Beyond the Wall that you'd want to see?" He rolls his eyes after a moment. "This sounds like one of Nick's ideas."
