"What's an elifunt?" she said. "Never heard of an Al-iphynt. Sounds like a drink."

Tim brushed his hands against his eyes, for a moment he thought on giving up on the deal, throwing the woman to that giant croc that had appeared before and leaving with the Emperors money. But of course, he didn't have the gall to do it.
"Big grey thing, you'll see."

The ship docks and Tim sees a veritable army in front him to greet them. A man on an elephant waves. "Welcome to Old Volantis, Westerosi." The guards split into two parallel lines to let them pass.

"How kind of them..." Tim stated inconspicuously, taking pleasure for such explendorous greeting.
"I am Tymothy Stark, emissary of his majesty's, Emperor Vaghus." He said, trying to sound powerful or something like that. "To whom have I the honor to be talking to?"

The man regards him from on high. "I am the Triarch Bannen Orlys." He looks over the group. "So even House Stark bows to the emperor, now, then? How...unexpected."

"Well... Not technically, your excellency. Not that I know." He said, trying to fix the misunderstanding. "It's just me actually, but I guess it doesn't come to the case."

"Anyway," he said, moving on, "Lady Janice, your presence is so anticipated. My son is eager to meet you." The woman smiles but stays mercifully silent as they walk down the great Valyrian road.

"Lady Janice surely feels the same about meeting you most sublime son." Tim smiled.
He was starting to feel that Vaghus might have been wrong about the Volantene opinion on his Emperor-ship, this one at least seemed so kind and eager to comply.

Their march ends at a palatial estate on the border of the new city and the old. Only highborn native Volantenes are allowed to cross the great bridge. Bannen waves a hand. "Now, then, we feast. If Emperor Vhagus will answer our terms, then we shall have a peace. New Ghis will pay for their assault upon our territories."

"Yes yes..." Tim had not been briefed in the whole enterprise, so he had no idea what New Ghis had to do with the story. So he did one of the things he did best, nod, smile and say generic sentences. "They shall."
"Peace is what the Emperor wants most."

"Good," the triarch said. "Settle in to your guest house, Lord Tymothy, and we shall feast in the morning. A real wedding should have a proper feast."
