"You probably won't have a choice unless he pays for a private residence," Sara said. "The Reachwomen are mostly hostages, I think. But some seem capable enough." She leans in. "You spoke to the Lady Hightower, then?"

"I did. She was not too happy that I came here through my own efforts. I really thought she might be pleased." She sighed. "Is it true that my mother is with the gods now?"

"Yes," Sara said. "Though what killed her remins a mystery. We heard suicide, but some claim poison."

Morgan sucked in a breath. "Mother is - was - a good woman. All she ever did was love her family and uphold her beliefs. I didn't always agree with her, but she wanted the best for us, always. I loved her. Who would want her dead?"

"I wouldn't put stock in it," Sara said, "just didn't want you hearing baseless rumors from a stranger." She frowned. "She was a good woman."

"Yes. Seven keep her safe," Morgan murmured as emotion welled up inside her. "Lady Arania said Mother killed herself when she heard I'd disappeared. If that's true, I've even more reason to ensure her death was not in vain.

"I suppose so." Another woman walks over. "Sara, septa rylia is wanting us to come for vespers." Sara nods. "Time to maintain my faith," she laughs. "Hopefully you move in soon."

"I will," Morgan promised. "Have a pleasant service. I have some matters to arrange before I return. I hope all goes well for you all."
She headed back to Olyvar. "It seems I have another friend in the city. I didn't get to speak to all the girls yet but there will plenty of time for you to cross paths with them. I know Sara Banefort from home though, she's a friend worth having."

Ollie is juggling five eggs he had bought as she approaches. His dexterity is impressive. "Good, I hope it works out. We need to head back, they're putting you in a cell tonight I think." He looks at her. "Rumor from the guards is you may face, well, um, trial. Charges of lewdness."

Morgan shrieked. "What? But...but...I,be done no such thing! You know I haven't." She trembled. "Who accuses me?"

"The maesters," he said. "You lived among men and I suspect they will try to get Alvin or someone else on board." He frowned.

"Bastards!" She snarled. "But do Alvin and the others even know I'm a woman? Gods be good, what do they think I did? I've small interest in men that way."
She thought with longing of Quentyn, the only man who had ever truly tempted her. She wouldn't have offered herself to him if she hadn't enjoyed his company.
"Olyvar, you know it's all lies. if anything had happened, well, you'd have heard it. And if anyone else suspected, they didn't say a word to me."

He shrugged. "The maesters always know. I think it is that peculiar magic instructor, but either way, you'll be fine. They are just trying to scaremonger."

"Because they don't want women here? I suppose I must make for an easier target than the women brought here by Lady Arania. Well, I shall not be beaten," she said firmly. "This is where I am meant to be and I will fight tooth and nail to stay here."

Olyvar nods. "Well, then, let's hope you find someone to get on your side." They head back to the Citadel. Morgan's stuff has been dumped into a small room maybe eight feet square. It has a blanket but no actual mattress for sleep.
