"Tried that... Thrice. First I got thrown overboard, the second time they gave me a beating and stole my coin pocket... The third time I managed to convince some sailors to take me to White Harbor, we were attacked by pirates who brought me to Pentos..." Tim said matter of factly, those were just normal days for him. "Pleasant people they were... Did you know that, contrary to the popular belief, they tend not to throw you to the sharks? Mine was a special circumstance, apparently; I guess they don't like humming very much."
"Think it's a sign, you know. For me to stay here, in the East; find me a good work... That kind of thing." His intentions were blatant, working for the Emperor couldn't be really bad, could it?

Vhagus chuckles. "What if you fell off my dragon? That seems like your peculiar brand of luck."

"I'd try to stay far from him, your highness... It's not that I'm afraid of heights, you see. I'm more of the type that is afraid of grounds, those are the ones that kill you." Tim said honestly, he could win nothing by hiding his fears. "I speak many languages, I know people in many places.. Maybe I could be of use in your highness' court." He gave the cutest look possible, baring those big shiny eyes that makes you go "aww"... (Charm 85)

"Very well," the man said. "Do you speak Volantene?"

"Better than many natural born citizens of Old Volantis, you highness." Tim answered in Volantene, a certain smugness in his tone.
"I have not had experience with some other though, like Qohorik and Norvosi, but I bet I can grasp them really quickly with the correct instructor."

"You won't need to." Vhagus grinned. "I need you to go to Volantis, not Qohor. The triarchs have been vexing me ggreatly, this last year."

This Emperor guy was quite fast forward, but well, he'd not spit on an opportunity like this.
"Sure, your highness. Am I to be accompained by an entourage? An escort?"

"A ship. A small and fast one." He claps his hands together once. "Succeed in this little task and I'll have much less...mundane tasks for you."

Mundane... That was a strange choice of words; well... A job was a job, Tim shuggred internally.
"Will do, your Highness." He bowed. "Shall I leave right now?"

"My friend Janice will be coming with you," he said. "Keep her safe, she is rather error-prone."

Tim almost couldn't hold his chuckle, he was sure she couldn't be that bad.
"Will do, your Highness. Meet her at the Dock, I guess?"

"Or fish her out of the water," he said. "I'm not lying to you." He strides back into the council hall. Outside the nobles' area, the riots against the alliance continue.

Tim shuggred and made his way to the Docks, trying his best to avoid the angry crowd.

HE hears splashing by the docks, and a piercing and scratchy voice calling for help.

Usually it was Tim that would be calling for help, generally in this situation he'd turn his back and run, so he'd have nothing to do with it... But in this case, this Janice might be important for his journey.
He followed the splashing sound.
