Killion calls for an orderly retreat back to the ships under the cover of the suppressing fire afforded by the galleons. With this portion of the Arbor Fleet in shambles, they had bigger fish to fry.

Killion had the fleet rejoin with the forces entrusted to Codd and asked for a report on Redwyne's course and heading. If nothing had changed, they would continue the same strategy as before: nipping at his heels with the small fast ships while the larger ones closed the gap.

As they spend the week sailing, they note smoke coming off Fair Isle.

Codd's ships report that thralls have been seen burning fishing boats and carrying weapons, a capital offense on the Islands. Rock womens' corpses have been found floating in the sea, throats slit. Children are being butchered by the men.

Killion sailed on, urging the men to use every bit of sail and every shred of fair wind to catch Lord Redwyne. He left 1,000 men at Fair Isle to set things right. If that did not suffice, they would see to it on the return trip. Now, the priority was catching Redwyne before he was able to do the same to the Iron Islands proper.

Codd's corsairs report the fleet has split into six groups of three galleons each, the vessels grounding on the various islands and unloading hundreds of soldiers carrying weapons. The galleons are then lit on fire.

Killion orders the forces split to deal with the insurrections on each island. His father is sent to Pyke, Saltcliffe to Saltcliffe, Blackwall to Great Wyk, Codd to Orkmont, Saim to Blacktyde, and Killion landed upon Harlaw to deal with Lord Shaun personally. Each of the Ironborn commanders was given 2,500 men, with Killion taking 3,000 due to Harlaw having the highest population. Saim would use his own men but was provided with a few Ironborn sailors who hailed from Blacktyde to serve as advisors on the terrain. Not including the foreign admiral, each man knew each rocky inch of the Iron Isles far better than Redwyne could and set about taking them back and dealing with those they came across brutally. What were a mob of armed thralls and a handful of trained greenlanders compared to thousands with iron in their blood?
