He was promptly invited in. Joanna was seated in an armchair near the fireplace, wearing a nice warm gown of deep green to match her eyes. She'd let her long golden hair down for a change, but it was pushed over one shoulder. It looked as if she had been reading a while back, as there was heavy book bound in dark leather lying on the table behind her, but she seemed to be just idly drinking tea now.
"Prince Benjen," she greeted, and rose, sincerely hoping he was not there to take her to the countryside. "Won't you join me for some tea?"

"Some tea would be delightful, lady Joanna," Benjen said, smiling. "I see you've been reading. May I ask what book?" He added, kissing Joanna's hand.

"Oh, this?" she asked, looking over her shoulder at the book, wishing she'd put it away earlier. Truthfully, she could only read for an hour or so in a row, as her eyesight had progressively grown worse over these past few years. Distant objects caused her no trouble; it was the fine line that made her eyes water. "Some old tome about the Dance of Dragons," she said lightly, and motioned for a servant to bring Prince Benjen his tea. "Quite exciting, but nothing more than that now. Just a story."

"Maester Urrigon's 'The Dancing Dragons'?" Benjen asked, mentioning a book he had loved when he was younger. "A good tale, but agreed, it lacks a lot of... factual aspects."
He smiled and sat down, taking his tea. "How are you finding Riverrun? Not too cold I hope." He chuckled.

"A little too confining for my taste," she replied. At the end of the day, Riverrun was just an oddly-shaped castle, if a strong one. "Might be I'm just too used to living in a city. The river is nice, though. I'm sure it'll be pretty when it's frozen." She thought for a moment, and smiled almost reminiscently. "I'm glad Eddard's Rest is next to a big lake. I will miss the sea."

"It's a very big lake at that," Benjen responded, though talk of the sea and memories of the Isle of Faces brought a bitter feeling to Benjen. "The last time I was at sea we lost a battle. Badly. It was outside White Harbour..." He coughed. "I should stop talking of war."

After speaking with his father and Lord Jayme and briefly talking to Danya, who had come to find him, Benjen comes to visit an injured Joanna.

He was permitted entrance, and found Joanna sitting in an armchair in front of the fireplace, much like the last time. She looked very pale this time around, however, and was quite clearly leaning on the armrest out of weakness rather than anything else.

Benjen entered and made his way swiftly to sit next to her.
"Joanna, are you alright?" He asked, evidently concerned.

Joanna offered him a small smile. "Not really. I was stabbed in the thigh," she said. "You are a dear for coming to see me, though."

"It is the least I could do, and I am preparing to do more," Benjen responded. "I will shortly be leaving to hunt down the men that did this to you. Your brother has chosen to come as well."

"Oh? Do you know who they are, then?" she asked, sitting up a little straighter. She was not surprised about the part concerning Jaymes as it was her who had given him the map. "Is it wise to put two important heirs in harm's way like this?"

"I am willing to face any danger to get to the roots of this, Joanna and no doubt so is your brother." Benjen responded. "I am not entirely sure who this is, but we will find them and we will bring them to justice."
