Simple madness rains supreme as the melee begins. No one can make much sense of what's going on, but Benjen and the hardened mercenary Harwyn Goodbrother fight an epic duel. The dual wielding Killion fends off two opponents at once, while Quentyn Cleftjaw and Dudley Mudd simultaneously land a beatdown on the giant Clegane bastard Andre.

The fight in some spots picks up in intensity, but overall the chaos and snow and slipperiness of the increasingly wet melee ground is proving a hassle for those who seek to earn a decisive edge. Quentyn Cleftjaw is used to uneven footing though, and his axe finds Karyl Crowl and the giant. Killion's dual swords find their mark as well.

Darius is mistaken into believing he can betray people in a melee and shows some steel, slapping Prince Killion's blade aside and smacking him in the head, then double-stepping over to smash Ser Dudley in the ribs. Benjen forces Ser Korben to yield and inflicts a bit of pain on Harwyn, also. Elsewhere, the field gangs up on Karyl, hitting him a few times, and the giant gets a taste of revenge on Lord Cleftjaw, slamming him with a huge blow from his axe.

Benjen goes on an absolute rampage, slamming the first Ironborn to the ground with vicious blows, then facing off with and edging Killion Greyjoy in their first tilt, his shield stopping the rain of strikes from the warrior and landing a leg cut. Killion does manage to smack the backstabbing Dornishman in the face though, which always feel nice. Meanwhile Karyl Crowl is not his usual rampaging self. Blame the lack of his plate.

It is beginning to look like getting laid improves Benjen Stark's fighting ability considerably, though winning your own tournament wedding hardly seems appropriate. He beats down Prince Killion, then forces two field knights to yield, carrying everything before him at the moment. Karyl manages to land a shallow blow on the wounded Ironborn Quentyn, but not much else happens.

The field winnows down swiftly now. Dudley and Darius fall to Ben Stark and Andre the Giant. Quentyn fights hard but Karyl and Andre prove an utterly irrestible force to resist forever.
