"Is that really something that happens?" he asks. "Maybe I was safer fighting Tarly." They rent two horses. "Lead on, my lady." "It happens more often that I would like," Amelia responded, kicking her horse into motion. "I couldn't count the times and yet I am still alive." She laughs, mostly at herself.

"Should I feel left out if I DON'T kidnap you?" he asks. "Where are we going?"

Amelia laughed at that. "Perhaps you should, though you would end up a head shorter in the end." She turned her horse northwards. "There are the ruins of an old sept in a small glade of trees nearby. A beautiful spot."

"Ruins of a sept? Don't tell me Kalvin Stark burned that one down too," he comments. "If it weren't for the snow this would remind me of Cider Hall."

Amelia chuckled. "Oh no, this sept has been empty for over a hundred years," She explained as they rode closer to the place. "Tell me of Cider Hall if you wish."

"It was a nice place, until they tried to kill me," Jared said. "It's really just a castle with a lot of apples." As they ride, the weather gets colder. "But the weather doesn't try to kill you, either. So, it's really boring, I guess."

"Apples are delicious though!" Amelia said cheerfully, pulling her cloak tighter around herself. "Perhaps if there is peace you can show me Cider Hall?"

"Hopefully," Jared said. "But my brothers are bastards, they get everything, and left me, well, this." He looks to Amelia. "Though I feel they'd throw themselves off a bridge for you." As they get to the ruined building, they can hear singing. Jared looks to her. "Now those are some devoted worshipers."

"Do you now? Perhaps I should get them to do that, that way you'll inherit," Amelia retorted, before the singing silenced her. "Hmmm... who would be out here singing in this weather?" They rode on to find out who the voice belonged to.

Jared dismounts and helps Amelia off. He looks a bit suspicious and unslings his bow, but doesn't nock an arrow yet. He takes her hand and they head to the sept.
The view before them is beautiful, but the decrepit building mars the scenery. The pair sees a half dozen young women singing in perfect harmony, but they are armed to the teeth. Jared looks at Amelia. "Wow, you DID want me to have a good time."

"By the gods, what..." Amelia said, staring at the six armed, singing women. "If I had known they would be here... well..." She shook her head. "No, I do not have an answer to that."

The women continue their chanting as they turn to face the newcomers. They are grim and unyielding, and they move in perfect coordination, spreading out like a deadly flower blossoming. Jared mutters a curse under his breath. The begin to advance. As they approach the pair, the begin to fade from view, until at last they vanish entirely, about five steps from Jared and Amelia. Jared mumbles a name under his breath. It could be Silas or Linus or some such. "I hope that was the last of it." He turns to Amelia. "You sure know how to pick a place."

Amelia had prepared herself to jump back on her horse and ride off but when the apparitions disappeared she sighed in relief.
"What just happened? Were they... ghosts?" She asked, taking a few steps back from the sept.

"You're the wizard," he said. "You thought they were after you?" He squints his good eye. "I thought Lord Morrys had sent more men after me." He starts walking to the sept. "I'm going to investigate."
