Korben pauses in his steps and looks around the area, raising a brow as he passed through and swearing he could hear someone shouting. He waits a few seconds, and not hearing the noise again, walks obliviously to get more wine, and maybe find something to eat.

(No skill bonuses for that FG? I think we earned it.)

Benjen gave a laugh and sipped from his wine glass, holding it in front of him for a moment. He tried to think of a witty retort and blanked, taking a moment to pretend to look at a painting on the wall. "A lot of people here already," He said somewhat inanely. "Good eye," said Joanna with a hint of a smile, although amiably. Her eyes wandered around the hall and saw the Summer Islander and the Northern lord in a very close proximity, then walking off together. "Is this one of your bannermen?" she asked Benjen, looking to him with a mixed expression of disgust and disbelief.

"It appears so," Benjen replied a bit tightly as he watched the spectacle unfold. "It seems like weddings are certainly the time for everyone to act a little crazy." He frowned and drank from his wine. Nothing could ever go just right, could it?

Joanna seemed to be having nothing further to add to that, and neither did her brother. The twins exchanged a very odd look, and, as if reading each other's minds, drank deep from their goblets once they'd turned their attention back to the hall.

"Lord Jaymes," Benjen spoke up, eager to change the subject. "We will be hosting a small tourney to celebrate; I do hope you will partake. There will be a joust, melee and an archery competition."
He looked to Joanna. "If I might ask you for your favour." He smiled.

A man with an eagle on his chest walks to the table. He places a sack on the table in front of Lord Jaymes with a contemptuous look. "Your present from House Mallister, my lord," he said. "As per our treaty." The word spits out like a curse as he strides swiftly away.

Although inclined to take the news badly at first as they didn't really need the extra expenses, Jaymes figured it would be a good distraction for the men and nobles alike. "I don't joust," he replied, eyeing the approaching man.
Joanna turned to the prince, reciprocating the smile. "You may," she said. "It has been so long since the last tourney I attended. And then I couldn't even root for my own brother. It is good to know you are not as boring as he is."
Jaymes stared daggers at the man until he left, then waved over a guard to take away the sack with Mallister's head that his kin had just so unceremoniously dropped next to his drink.

Benjen's eyes followed the man who had deposited the head, then turned back to Jaymes. "Apologies, Lord Jaymes. It seems the Mallisters have no manners. My father will see fit to speak with them."
He drank some of his wine and turned back to Joanna. "I warn you now, I am not much of a jouster, though I did win the melee at King's Landing last year."

Jaymes nodded. Apparently the prince had forgotten his father was right there with them.
Joanna briefly wondered whether that meant Prince Benjen was being modest, or that the competition at King's Landing had been incredibly rubbish. "Oh, but if you won, you must be at least somewhat good," she said anyway. "Who did you manage to best, Your Grace?"

Lady Rowena Erenford entered with two of her five children, those old enough to join the festivities at this hour, and of course her husband.

"It was a big scrap, that one, but I personally bested Lord Tyrell, Ser Percy Oakheart, Ser Vincent Lannister, a distant cousin of yours I believe, and my own best man Karyl Crowl," Benjen recounted with a grin. "Though I have to admit I was hard pressed."

Having checked his Northerner off the list, Daxos began searching the wedding for more willing partners.

"Though I have to admit I was hard pressed." Joanna thought she'd heard of that simple-minded giant before. They had a few of those in the west, too. She thought for a bit. "I don't believe I know this Ser Vincent," she said finally. "Must be very distant, then. It is good to know you've taken down Tyrell before, however. My brother can hardly wait to meet him on the battlefield, can you, Jaymes?" Jaymes gave her a look that said there was a long list of other things he'd much rather do. "I suppose," he said. "But your father had the right idea when he said we shouldn't talk of war now," said Joanna lightly. "When is this tourney to take place? Won't it be too cold for it now?"

"It'll be cold for sure, but that shouldn't matter too much. Fighting makes you sweat," Benjen said with a chuckle. "I believe the wrestling and archery will be held tomorrow."
