The seat of House Redfort, the castle sits on a hill overlooking a hill with a lake next to it. It is not particularly strong or noted, but has one of the largest weirwoods south of te Neck.

Karyl Crowl and 2000 men ride for Redfort, upon nearing its gates he scans the caste for its defensive capabilities and men.

The small castle is well manned and looks reasonably formidable, but they have little chance of any real offensive options. As the men set up camp, Karyl sees archers looming over the walls, peering nervously over at the small army.

The first thing that Crowl does is have his men start to prepare for building any siege equipment that they can manage with the surrounding area's wood. After those orders were done Crowl takes 5 of his men towards the castle with a white flag in hopes of speaking to Lord Redfort or his brother.

A young woman wearing their colors comes out. She bows to Lord Crowl. "I'm Delena Redfort, Lord Crowl. The mercenaries killed my parents and are holding my younger brother hostage. They say...they'll kill him if you attack, my lord!" She starts sobbing.

The Crowl, being soft for his friends and family was still very much a clansman and didn't care much for the boys life. But instead he hesitates, "And the mercenaries sent you out to talk to me rather then come face me themselves?" He asks her.

"They heard you eat people...they said they are staying behind those walls." She wails. "They'll starve my family and servants weeks before they surrender!"

"How many mercenaries are there in the castle, compared to your parent's men?" Crowl asks her softly, so his words wouldn't carry to the castle and those on it's walls.

"A few...hundred, I guess. We only have forty men there usually," she says. She starts sobbing again.

"Are there any passages into the castle that you could sneak my men into the castle come nightfall?" He asks her.

She shakes her head. "Heavens, no! That'd just mean another weakness."

"Another weakness." Crowl repeats, "What would be this first point of weakness? If I can get my men inside we will be able to save your little brother." He tells her.

"The gate was seriously damaged when they took the castle over," she said. "A battering ram can probably knock it over without much trouble."

"The time it takes for us to get a battering ram to the gate and those two hits, your brother is in danger." The cannibal starts. "Could you get some of your men to open the gate for us instead?"

She shivers. "I...I don't know. It isn't a fast process, and the mercenaries are everywhere." From the walls, Crowl hears the mercenaries chanting in some goofy foreign tongue. He imagines it is either the meanest sounding compliment ever, or they just don't like him.
