A man volunteers, probably a drunk one.

A man covered in bird shit concerned himself little with a rotten egg. He seemed to consider eating it, before taking a swig from his skin of saltwater instead.
As the man comes forward, Earling beckons him forward in an almost paternal manner. "What is your name, my son?"

"Walter," the man says nervously. "I want to be reborn."

Earling Blacklung stopped addressing the man and began addressing the Drowned God himself, voice lowered in reverence.
"Let Walter your servant be born again from the sea, as you were. Bless him with salt, bless him with stone, bless him with steel." he anointed the man with his skin of seawater, before suddenly dunking him under the water, drowning him in earnest until he stopped struggling.
When that was done, he dragged the man's body to the shore and resusitated him, raising his arms as the man sputtered back to life, proclaiming the miracle as evidence of the Dtowned God's power
"What is dead may never die, but rises again, harder and stronger." he intoned.

Walter rises, sputtering. "What...what...did you do?"

"You were dead." he stated simply, "And have arisen a child of the Drowned God. Your body has been committed to the sea, so that you may find your way to the Drowned God's halls when your time has truly come. The worthless thing you were is dead and you need fear no longer!"

Walter looks about. "I feel....good," he says. "Praise the Lord!"

"Praise Him indeed!" Earling proclaimed. "Who will be next to accept the blessing of He Who Dwells Beneath the Waves? For that is the only way to prepare yourselves for the crucible to come."

"Aye, a dip in the habour will make any drunk feel alive, drowned or not!" Cried Martyn. Leaving his meeting with Roland, he had gone down to the habour to discuss the purchasing of some dyes and inks from the fishmongers handling the various squids, oysters, and other sealife spread among the tables and stalls. Spotting the priest in the water, the septon could not help but bet amused.

"You dare mock the power of the Drowned God, who returns life to the dead and brings the bounty of the seas to this very city?" Blacklung challenged, raising his cudgel high in his damp robes. "What miracles do your false gods work through you, greenlander? You have but words and even those have failed you, as your own holy father has declared war upon you. Give into the waves, septon, or be washed away."

"I saw a maester perform your miracle once, and a sailor out of Qarth on the docks of Oldtown after a whore was fell beneath a ship and was caught under a net. Neither had faith in your Drowned God, yet both showed more skill than some of your priests are known for. Of course I mock your Drowned God, whose secret ways and miraculous deeds are so easily discerned by the unfaithful," said Martyn. I can't fault him on the High Septon though, the man IS a dolt and this business with Tyrell is a bloody mess.

"He Who Dwells Beneath the Waves works in mysterious ways, offering his blessings to some and denying them to others." Earling replied. "Yet only those who have been drowned will be feasted in his halls. This knowledge unites his followers, whereas your Seven only divide. One god, one people!"

"You challenge me on my Faith's miracles, yet concede that all might be blessed by them on some divine whim. It sounds like your god cares little for the drowning of men and women if that's the case," turning to the group attending to the Drowned Priest's preaching he gestured at the man with his left hand, clutching his robes with his right. "Let me bear witness and add my testimony to the miracles and works wrought by the Drowned God of the Ironborn. Nigh 40 years ago my father, Lord of the Crag, marched with the Lannisters into this very city. Women raped or taken away, children split in two from crown to waist, men and sailors floating in the waves of the habour after too strenuos and involuntary a drowning at the hands of their priests. Some of you might remember, some of you were probably there as children or youths. That or you've had the stories from those who came before you of the miracles wrought at the hands of the Ironborn and their bloody god. Mayhaps the His Holiness in Oldtown has supped from the same teachings, and wishes to take you, your children, and daughters to in bloody war against the King."

'Round' 1
Blacklung: 169 (rolled a 99, petition FG for a +1 in my opinion) Martyn: 115
Blacklung speaks simply and perhaps his words are better understood by the crowd. The people had already been worrying about a split in the Faith, and Blacklung playing on these fears works the crowd to his advantage.
