Tessa shrugged. "He is as much a mystery to me as anyone else. He is stupifyingly successful and a sorcerer without peer."
Daena looked at Ragnar. "You're speaking to one."

Daena looked at Ragnar. "You're speaking to one." "So I am. Do you ride a dragon too, princess?"

"Is that a terrible incest joke?" Daena looks pissed already.

"Certainly not. Emperor Vhagus is a dragonrider, I wondered if you were also." Ragnar couldn't help grinning though. He'd heard about the Valyrians and their penchant for incest. It seemed old traditions were not forgotten so easily. "Now we are allied, it seems logical to learn all I can of your people. Aye, and dragons too. Your ancestors were famous for their ability to control and ride dragons, just as mine are famous for our skills at sea. I am merely curious, my lady."

"I don't fly dragons," she said. "There are only two big enough to ride anyway. My sister and cousin have them."

"Do you not dream of flying a dragon, if there were one for you?" He wondered. "Or do you prefer to keep your feet on the ground?"

"I dream of many things. I have been on Drogon and Rhaegys, but to say I ride them is misleading. I merely hold on for life while the real dragonmasters worked." She looks to him. "I've never heard of Old Wyk? Is it a city?"

The morning after the wedding the emperor arrives. He bows to Killion and his new bride. "All apologies. Even Drogon cannot be everywhere at once." The giant grim Doombringer is near him. "The drawbacks to having so many objects in the air, and only two hands to keep them spinning."

"An island. My island," he said proudly. "There are other lords, with halls and ships of their own but all are sworn to obey me. I fear the Iron Islands would seem a cold and harsh place to an exotic beauty like yourself. Even our women are fierce and strong." He thought of Hannah and grinned. "I would be honoured to host you, though, if you cared to visit. Perhaps the...novelty would amuse you for a while."

"Maybe," she said doubtfully. "Cold is not my favored climate. Dragons are fire given life."

"Of course. The offer stands. Perhaps you should visit Dorne, my lady. You might enjoy the heat."

"The drawbacks to having so many objects in the air, and only two hands to keep them spinning." Killion was overseeing the preparation of his ships for departure, even loading a few crates himself as the men worked to make ready to return to Tyrosh. "No apologies necessary, it seems you arrived just in time." bowing just as low in return to the emperor, before clasping his hand in greeting. His eyes did not waver as he looked into Vhagus', half wondering if he could see the demons lurking behind them. "And it is a problem I know too well, though I envy your dragon. It must make the task immeasurably more surmountable."

Vhagus shrugs. "More ability to move, more necessity to overuse it," he said. "Rest is for the weak." He looks over the preparations. "Leaving so soon?" His eyes are green and clear.

"As you said, plates to keep spinning and I lack the extra limbs of my sigil." he nodded in affirmation, before grinning. "Though as you missed the festivities, I would be willing to postpone in order to share a drink with my new cousin by marriage."

Vhagus nods and signals for some whiskey. "I'm sending a ship to Westeros tomorrow, do your best to see it isn't disturbed," he said. "I'll be east for a long while bringing Qarth to heel. Good fortune to you and yours in the interim," he finished.
