Kalvin raised up a bit and looked at her. "Fall? I don't think so," he said. "Certainly not Winterfell. Your brother will hold Bryce in check until I can come back with his...new army and finish him off." He rubs her shoulder. "Why would you think that?"

"You saw King's Landing. Dayne will do anything, hurt anyone, pay any price... Benjen will not. It is not a bad thing, I am glad he would not, but it is hard to fight against someone who would, and then when Bryce is gone, we will have lost so much... so many men, so many lives, and Bryce is not our only enemy." Robyn said, looking at a crease in the fabric. "Do not misunderstand me, it is not despair, even if it is hopeless, I would fight to my last breath for this place, I just do not wish to... " she searched for the words but found none that could describe what she wanted to say.

"Have false hope?" Kalvin said. "Well, then, you're not a little girl, so I won't spare you the truth. Killing Bryce Dayne will cost us tens of thousands, potentially, this debacle with Savinia the Wildling Queen will take more, and then of course there's always the Ironborn and the Pentosi trying to make way in our lands. And we don't have the reserves of men we need," he admitted. "Which is why I've come back around to your brother's thinking. I plan on coopting the wildlings and forming them into an army. And Benjen can afford to restrain himself, to be the ruler that the kingdom can rally behind," he looked at her and his face is cold. "because I have no limits on what I'll do for us to win."

"Then maybe i should have gone south, I do not think I will be much help coopting with wildlings. And dealing with their queen will not help the lands already being pillaged by the ones who have stopped following her." Robyn pointed out, "If the wildlings become a proper army, can they not turn all of that onto us?
She looked round finally at his cold expression and sat up slightly too, looking him in the eyes. "Good. I hope you never have to demonstrate it though."

"It's not too late to go south, then, Robyn," he said. "You can catch Aaron quick enough. Lord Crowl had the right idea, I think," he said. "He just needed more muscle backing his play." He flexes jokingly. "Go kill Bryce Dayne, then, with Nick and Ben. I won't forget you," he promised. He lays back. "In the morning, that is."

'Yes, it will be important to start the long ride south after all the the sleep I will not be getting" She replied drying and laid back as well, "I Have best come with you, you will need me, She is a Queen, I am a princess, we speak a language you peasants can never understand" Robyn grinned despite herself and rolled onto her side to get more comfortable.

"I don't plan on speaking," he said. "except in the language she is certain to understand."

Robyn didn't reply, not wanting to know what language that was, it sounded like he was going to fight her or fuck her, she wasn't keen on him doing either.

The mystery remains as he drifts off to sleep.

Robyn watches as he drifts off, not sleeping her arse, and returns to staring at the roof in the dark, until she too started to sleep herself.

Robyn was of course there too, and looked to see how much the city had recovered.

Not a whole damn bit, from what she can tell. The walls are still useless, nearly, and the city is still a virtual ghost town, but the northerners and Kingslanders are slowly rebuilding.
