A city in Essos, west of New Valyria. The city is built perhaps forty miles inland, but the river running through it is large enough for major shipping.

March, 380.
The Iron Fleet, after a long journey fraught with near-battles with nearly every navy on the way, arrives a day's sail from Mantarys. At the massive river delta leading to the river, a fleet of considerable size can be seen, as well as two fortresses guarding the entrance. On the land, looking like locusts at the distance, is what must already be the largest army any of them have ever seen, besieging the two vast fortifications.

Quentyn, on the bow of the Jawbreaker when the city comes into view, calls to the nearest ship, Drumm's flagship. "So which of these fuckers are we killing?!"

Ragnar grinned.
"Anyone who gets in our way," he said. "For myself, I don't care either way. I only hope the plunder is worth our while. Aye, and the women too. Practice for the next battle is all very well. but it's small consolation at night."

Quentyn laughs at that. "Oh, I think it'll be worth it. And who doesn't love these Eastern women?"

"Aye, there is that. Eastern women don't have the same views as Westerosi women. I need to take myself some more salt wives, anyway. A crop of bastards would be handy to keep my trueborn sons company and crew their ships for them."

"Aye, and me as well. Never hurts to have a backup heir or ten, either."

"That's true. You got any salt wives yet?" Ragnar asked.

"Just the one. Northern girl. Found her a couple years back. Her shepherd father offered her to me in exchange for only taking half his flock. So I took her, plus his whole flock, and burned his hut down." Quentyn shrugs his shoulders. "Teach him to try and pay me off with his own flesh and blood."

That made Ragnar laugh
"Aye, only a fool bargains with our people. Does she service you adequately? I hear northern girls are awfully cold."

Iron Fleet:
Lord Theon Harlaw (+42): 180/105 King Euric Greyjoy: 190 Lord Ragnar Drumm: 139 Lord Quentyn Cleftjaw: 153
Mantarys:
Admiral Zhevelon (+27): 211/119 The Grey Ghost: 181 The Marauder: 110 The Champion of Yeen: 201
The battle starts with an unexpected twist, as the Mantaryean fleet uses a wheel maneuver unknown to the west, drawing the center battle fleet into a salient and enabling several ships to engage each one. Lord Harlaw sees the trap and issues counterorders almost too late. King Euric and a strange grey-plated man wielding a halberd are the violent warriors of the hour, the Iron king wielding his two swords with a ferocity seldom seen, the foreign man slaying a half dozen Ironmen himself.
Iron Fleet: 10200 Mantarys: 7600

Round 2:
Lord Theon: 212/141 King Euric: 177 Lord Ragnar: 182 Lord Quentyn: 150
Mantarys: Admiral Zheveren: 211/99 The Grey Ghost: 129 The Marauder: 165 The Champion: 161
Blood spills more freely as the fleets reorder, and the battle is joined along two separate parallel lines. Lord Quentyn ducks a blow from nearby and throws the wielder of the sword overboard to drown, and a hundred yards away Lord Ragnar's ship overtakes another vessel and begins boarding. The battle is fierce and the easterners are stronger than the Ironmen had thought likely.
Random Event: High Roller of Army A fights high roller Army B
Lord Ragnar approaches a mercenary in strange colors he's never seen, and the man kills two of his crewmen, grinning through his halfhelm with a gap-toothed death smile.
Lord Ragnar Drumm VS the Marauder
Iron Fleet: 9600 Mantarys: 7000
