"That's the long and short of it," Kyle said. "Celebrating Prince Aaron's engagement to the Baratheon lord's daughter."

Rycherd gave a bark of laughter.
"Baratheons marrying Baratheons." he said amusedly. "Do they intend to emulate the Targaryens?
He glanced around at the busy throne room.
"Do you intend sending a contingent from the Goldlands, cousin? Or have recent relations been soured too much?"

He perked up at the sound of a tourney. He even threatened a smile. Finally, I get to hit someone.

Kyle shrugged. "I'm not sure how welcome the, what was the sobriquet I heard from that Red follower, Bloody Rose, would be overly welcome, but I didn't go quite as far as you did," he noted. "But I'm too old for those. I'm sending a few men." He arched an eyebrow.

Rycherd smiled. "I expelled a few followers of the Red God from my lands...no more. If there's a safe conduct, I may accompany your men and bring a few of my own. I do so love a good tourney."

"I'm sure it can be arranged." Kyle nodded. "A good tourney is a thing of beauty."

"Very well cousin. Then, if you are willing, this Bloody Rose shall be glad to act as your representative in Kings Landing." he said with another smile.
"Naturally we shall need to put on a show for the rest of Westeros. There are other lords who will be part of the Goldlands entourage? Lord Brax here looks like a man who could handle himself well in a tourney."

"We'll put out the call and see who answer," Kyle said. "I'm sure many are eager to test their steel again."

Rycherd inclined his head in acceptance.
"The other matter I need to speak to you on is the subject of my marriage. Oberyn's Yronwood's daughter is currently at Highgarden. However with the death of Oberyn, the necessity for such a match is past, given that my sister has also wed Oberyn's son. I shall probably wed the girl to one of my male relatives, but that still leaves me without a bride."

"Breaking a betrothal? Interesting," Kyle says. "Your bachelor status is old news to us here at the Rock, I assure you."

"There was no betrothal as such." Rycherd replied gravely. "The arrangement in that Oberyn's daughter would wed a male Tyrell of my choosing. I intend to honor that commitment."

Kyle nods. "I see. Well, then, you have found another candidate for marriage?" Everyone in the court looks at him, suspecting.

"No." replied Rycherd as several lords leaned forward expectantly. "We shall see what circumstances may bring. I do have a few ideas of my own, cousin. Perhaps a visit to Kings Landing might prove fruitful."

"Perhaps it may," Kyle agrees. "Good luck in the tourney, my lord."

Rycherd smiled. "Thank you, Your Grace. Now I must greet your lovely wife and daughters. They and your son Brynden are well, I take it."
