Amelia nodded for the servant to lug the big trunk below deck before taking the sheet of paper. "Oh, these look fancy. An interesting language you have there."

"Do not take the runes lightly." he scolded. "In ink, they are harmless, but with blood they are the cornerstones of our power. Blood magic is the most powerful of the schools, but also potentially the most dangerous in the hands of a novice. The slightest of errors can have the direst of consequences."
Looking at some of the letters, Amelia could see the potential difficulty. The runic alphabet was complicated, with many of the letters looking far too similar. The runes for Death and Life were nearly indestinguishable.

She gave a tiny smirk at the similarity of the latter two, before looking up again. "I will do my best then to learn and write them as best as I can. I have my own ledgers and feather so expect not to see much of me on deck."

Amelia laughed loudly, making her breasts wobble. "Oh you are a dear! Well, I shall see you anon!" She winked and went below deck, the servant returning and leaving the ship soon after.
