She nodded. Thank you, Reyna." She looked at the others again, noting their confusion. They all looked like they needed a long rest. She exhaled slowly. "Just several long strips. Make sure to avoid the dirtiest bits."

Catherine looks at Reyna. "That'll be enough...it just has to wrap around a bit, I think. Gerald might need more." the big man waves a plated fist.
"I'm fine."

"But now what?" Reyna asked. "We can't just sit here."

Arania looked at Gerald. "If you're hurt, let us see to it. At least until we can get back to Eddard's Rest..." She cut off sharply. "Well, I'm not sure how long it will be until you can get a maester to look at it," she finished, much more quietly.
"I think we'll see to their wounds as much as possible, then think about heading back down. The water's receded now, hasn't it?" It was hard to tell, through the trees.

"But will it be safe? Is there some place we could send to, for help?" Reyn asked.

"I don't know," she said testily. "Catherine, do you know? Gerald?"

"There's some castles much farther away...but we didn't pack for a week long ride, and with Gerald and Catherine injured...no, we have to go to Eddard's rest," Princess Meera says, rubbing her head. "Surely...something is left, after all..."

"Surely." Arania, once again, did not sound sure. She took the strips of cloth from Reyna and attempted to bind up Catherine's wounds, or at least to stifle the bleeding. She felt the tiniest bit guilty that she was completely unhurt.

"But...but...how could that even happen?"
Reyna wasn't used to feeling so helpless.
"And what can the few of us do by ourselves?"

(sorry...dealing with...things)
"I don't know, but its not like we can do nothing." Arania felt like she should take charge. "All right..." She tied off Catherine's bandage. "If Gerald won't let himself be seen to, then we should be on our way."

Reyna was a bit awkward still on horseback but she nodded and said anxiously "I wonder if there are any survivors."

"I'm sure there are a few," Arania said absently. She had taken the belt from the fallen guard and wore the short sword in its scabbard at her waist. It made her seat a bit more uncertain, but she felt more comfortable having it on her. "We will find out soon enough."

Reyna glanced at Arania. In other circumstances she might have been amused.
"How horrible. It seemed the Drowned God wanted to take vengeance upon the North, though I couldn't say why."
She spurred her horse onwards.

Arania only then realized what she had said, and how she had said it. She tucked her head lower, letting her hair fall forward to shadow he face. "May the mother have mercy on us, and on anyone who is left in the town," she whispered to herself.
