While the God's Eye is a lake, its size and strategic significance ensures the north keeps a very modest flotilla on it, mostly to catch poachers and such. The northmen assemble on the small docks near the few real sailing ships.

The Crowl stands near the edge of the docks watching the rest of the crew assemble for the trek over to the island.

Uhtred oversees the preparations on the boat. It was not new by any short stretch of time, but it would serve. It would be a while before his ships would come by way of Blackwater, and Uhtred hoped the whole sorry business would be over with before his men arrived. He brooded over the Iron Kings summons.

Benjen strode to the rowing boat he, Titus and Crowl would take to the island. "Wait until one bell before nightfall before following us," He said to the others, settling into the boat and manning one of the oars. "Take it in turn, friends!"

Crowl takes the other oar and starts to row matching his rowing with that of Benjens.

Titus began whistling a little tune as he pulled his oar. "I hope to holy hell you know what you're doing, Benjen."

Lucas watched from the Quarterdeck of one of the ships. His hand kept finding his way back to his sword, waiting for the time when they took up oars.

Kalvin Stark and the others nod. The three men set off, a strong wind helping their rowing immensely. It's still quite a journey, though, and they don't reach the island for several hours.

"Didn't come along for nothing," Titus said, dryly. "Shall we spread out a bit?"

Two hours later, Kalvin looks around. "We're not ACTUALLY going to wait until nightfall, right?"

Uhtred glances up. "Not in me to disobey orders milord." He goes back to sharpening his axe. "Course, if someone would give me new orders..."

"Sounds good. Let's set up and go," Kalvin says. "We'll never find them if we wait too long."

Uhtred boards the small cutter waiting for them, directing the few men-at-arms accompanying them to get to the oars.

The ship travels to the island, and it's only a few creepy, red sap filled hours before they catch up to the trio...well, more like group.
