"I will be there. As will my men and any of the clans wise enough to join me." Karyl says nodding to Durand before making his way into the mountains with his men.

The village is mostly empty, and the women and children are huddled together in a crude religious building.

The Crowl decides to knock on the door politely yet cautiously in case they decided to go down fighting. He waits to see if they will answer before yelling into the building at them.

His mighty fist leaves dents in the door, and finally a young woman answers, by her richer dress probably the local chief's daughter. The people are clearly terrified. "Here to...finish what Draven started?"

"Me and my men are here to bring Draven to justice for the crimes he has committed, What did he do to your people and village?" Karyl asks trying to be polite.

"His army took all the men and made them fight at his castle," she said. "Anyone who didn't want to go got killed, like my father."

"I can offer you as much protection as you need to be safe from Draven. But in return you might need to help me." The Crowl states flatly, wanting to be on his way to not miss any fighting.

"Help us try and persuade your men to lay down their arms in defense of Draven and fight alongside us against him, to bring him to justice." Crowl states.

She looks scared, but looking at his eager men's faces scares her perhaps a bit more. "I can try, just...send my mother and the rest to safety. Anywhere away from here."

"I want you to pick a couple more to help you in your task should the need arise, the rest I will send away with a small escort to make sure they get there nice and safe." He says turning to his men and picking ten of the less eager and intimidating men to act as the escort.

There aren't many suitable candidates, so the girl picks someone at random. "All right, we're ready, warrior."

Karyl nods and after sending the rest of the women and children back to Coldwater gathers the rest of his men and the two girls and makes their way out of the village to find another suitable place.

The rest of the villages look about the same, and by the time he meets Durand he has burned two villages and gotten representatives from four more. The skirmish line has served its primary function, and they rejoin the main host for the march on Cassadar's Keep.
///
On the same field where they had fought six weeks prior, the northern army sees the clans arrayed for battle, perhaps seven thousand strong, the great chieftain known as the Wild One leading them. Coldwater and Ser Richard Arryn regard the army. "Well, Lord Crowl, let's see if this plan of yours works. If we can collapse a flank this fight will be a lot less bloody."
The northern army has the cavalry Prince Benjen's army didn't bring with them on their ships, having given them more heavy infantry in return. They are placed on the right for the main assault, the heavy infantry anchoring the center with levies, and all levies on the left, where Lord Crowl has been placed.
