Amelia crossed her legs after sitting down, studying her companion as she sipped lightly on the wine. "What did you do that made you so unpopular in Meereen?"

"I proposed an unpopular strategy to end the war. And then I had the poor judgment to fall in love. With my trueborn half sister Cassana." He shook his head. "I never touched her, but King Sirius is not a forgiving man. Strong, sane, and able, yes, but not forgiving. He has lived too hard a life for that." He leans back and looks at her too. "But, all those years of defending my family, since the age of eight, on the south border had their benefit when I came to Braavos to form a mercenary company seven years ago."

"Oh? You have been to Braavos? What is your mercenary company called?" Amelia asked. "You see, I visited the city not too long ago; perhaps I would have heard of some of your dealings?"

"I helped found the Arrogant Bastards. I was much more sarcastic seven years ago," he explains. "Me and Nihilus formed that company out of the dregs, trained them, made them feel elite, and then, before they knew it, they WERE elite. I sold my stake to him, and moved on." he looks at her. "But I still have the sellsword getup."

Amelia smiled, clearly impressed. "Why did you leave? And I would love to see the get up; I am sure you make a striking figure as a sellsword." A delighted laugh escaped her mouth.

"killing got old, I guess," He shrugs. "and that was about the time a man you are interested in tried to hire us." He rises, heads down a small hallway, and calls out, "you really want to see it? Beware; I have a Bear and the Maiden Fair stage outfit to make you try."

"I will put that on if you put on the sellsword get up," Amelia commented, slowly rising and following the man down the hall, taking her glass with her.

A bear suit gets tossed out. "Couldn't find the maiden outfit, sorry." She hears clanking, and then metal footsteps, then he steps out, in dented, blackened chain with a plate breast covering, helmet with a massive dent on top, and a sharp arakh, so sharp one could probably shave with it. He strikes a pose. "I am THE Arrogant Bastard."

Amelia laughed loudly. "You sure look like one!" She commented. "That dent in the helmet looks awful bad; did it hurt?" She sipped from her wine. "And you cannot expect me to wear a bear costume." The girl gave a smirk.

"You said you would. I said I had a Bear and the Maiden Fair stage outfit. I never said it was the maiden's." He raises a mailed arm, looking absurd without the gauntlets or fastenings to hold it in place. "Bears are quite honorable creatures, after all."

"You would have me embarrass myself?" Amelia asked, giving a small pout. "I am aware that only you would see me wear it but that is already bad enough. A girl like me has dignity after all!"

He looks at her with a pout, and the visor on his helmet takes that moment to fall closed with a loud and silly clang. "Dammit. So, my lady would put on any dress I happened to throw out, but a fully concealing, modest bear suit is somehow beyond the pale? Westeros is of a different persuasion."

"A dress is respectable, a bear suit not!" Amelia informed him, tapping her nose before she took another sip of the wine. "Oh, this is rather delicious." She gave him a look. "I will accept to wear any dress you throw at me if it means I do not have to model the bear suit."

"You said that about the bear and the maiden fair suit," Vhagus points out. "My only other dress in your size is nothing for a respectable lady to wear, I fear. Nothing like the bear suit. It is a bare suit."

"A bare suit?" Ami asked, raising her eyebrow as she set her wine down. "I did come with the some intent to find rather more exotic dresses. Show me this dress and I will decide if I will bear the bare or the bear." She winked.
