"I think I will, if you and your father wouldn't mind. I need sensible. Nina is, but I can't count on having her around forever. Congratulations to you, by the way; every bachelor in Westeros is cursing their luck right now."

"I am a lucky man, Prince Arthur, though I..." He paused then. "No, they will curse me for ever more." He smiled and nodded his head. "I hope we shall speak again soon."

He walks into the antechamber, where the grim Dornish sit. Everyone is silent, except for the echoing crying of Ellaria Dayne. Lord Bryce's face is a mask, whilst Ser Frances Sand is bandaged. Princess Nalya looks at Lord Oberyn but doesn't break the silence. He does note the greatsword is lying on the floor, though, so rumors of its theft were exaggerated. Lord Oberyn eyed the sword on the ground, his face carefully blank. "How?" he asked, simply.

"Stark." Bryce manages through his gritted teeth. "He beat my useless bastard and killed my son."
//
Arthur nods. "I am going to tell the bannerlords what you told me. you can come if you'd like, but it will be unpleasant."

"Unpleasantness I can deal with, must deal with," Benjen said nodding, letting Arthur lead the way. Calm... a king's face... you are a Stark.

"The prince?" he asked with a slightly raised eyebrow. He was good, but Ser Markus Dayne would have cut him into bloody chunks. "Why?"

"No, dammit, Rickon's grandson. Kal, with that gods-forsaken Valyrian sword of his. Helped by this Arania Hightower." As they speak, Prince Arthur and Benjen Stark enter. Arthur whispers something in his mother's ear, and she nods lightly.
Bryce turns his eyes to the heir to Eddard's Rest. "So, the wolves come to explain their treachery. Why is my son dead, Prince Benjen Stark? Why is my daughter having nightmares of direwolves tearing her brother to bloody shreds?"

"Why indeed, Prince Benjen? Dorne understood your father to be her ally, why now have you joined with the Reachmen to sow treachery among us?" Lord Yronwood glowered.

"It is no treachery, and the North is still your ally," Benjen said in a level voice. "Lord Bryce; your man Frances Sand assaulted Arania Hightower, slew her guard, and took one of her teeth with a dagger. Kal Stark interrupted this deed and the two men fought. The way Arania explains it your son Ser Markus arrived, Ellaria with him. When he saw what was occurring he sent your daughter and Sand away. Then the fight occurred."

As the Prince speaks, Oberyn scrutinizes Frances Sand, and then Ellaria Dayne, carefully looking for any reactions to Stark's words. "This Hightower girl seems to be at the center of every misdeed that has occurred since we arrived in this Gods Forsaken place. I have heard it said that she lured Ser Markus into a trap, as she lured the Royce girl into a trap seven nights ago," he said, choosing his words carefully.

"And who did you hear this from, Lord Yronwood; as reliable a source as one who was present?" Benjen asked. "If you do not believe me then I extend the invitation to come to the Stark chambers and speak to Arania and Kal themselves. You are of course free to believe the rumours instead."

"And I do not suppose you ever considered the possibility that the Hightower girl was lying to cover her own impropriety? What sort of a lady wanders off with strange men? Many would not be pleased with the reputation such might earn them, if stumbled upon in the midst of such," he replied softly. "You presume to know much, Prince of the North, for one who claims he was not there himself."

"I have met the Hightower girl several time, as has Amelia Royce, a good friend of mine. We have both taken her measure and have found it unlikely that she would lie about something like this." He nodded. "Perchance she is a little... reckless; that cannot be denied. But the girl is eighteen; it is more likely she is an idiot than a brilliant schemer."

"Or being used by someone far more devious, which is more likely," Lord Yronwood replied. "You have not mentioned how Dorne's ally will make reparations for the death of the Sword of the Morning," he added.

"If it were up to me there would not be any, Lord Yronwood," Benjen answered. "Ser Markus had his sword to defend himself with; it still bears Kal Stark's blood on it. He died how he lived, by the sword." He paused. "It is not up to me however, so you will have to speak to my father about that."
