The maester arches an eyebrow but leads him in to where they are prepping her body for transport back to Lannisport.

Rycherd walked over to where Meghan's body lay and looked upon her dead face for a long moment without speaking. He eventually turned to the maester.
"I am not familiar with the circumstances of her death other than it was by violence. You have examined her? What were your findings?"

"That is none of your business, my lord," the maester says firmly.

His temper already short and his nerves on edge, Rycherd was in no mood for opposition. "I am the Lord of Highgarden and this girl here is my cousin." replied Rycherd, flaring. "You will tell me in order that I might advise my cousin the King."

The maester laughs. "On whose authority do you think I tell you it's none of your business? If you want to know how she died, ask the King. If he won't tell you, I surely won't."

"And why is the manner of her death such a secret?" demanded Rycherd.

"Because the king said to tell no one."

"And your name is?" asked Rycherd looking the man up and down.

"Maester Theobald, Lord Mason's personal maester." He has quite the impressive collection of links. He is perhaps forty, and fit rather than skinny or paunchy.

"Well Maester Theobald,.." said Rycherd forcefully.
"..perhaps you should be aware that Meghan Lannister's death could well result in a war. You may also be aware that I command a considerable amount of King Kyle's forces in my own right as Lord of Highgarden. I will not commit my forces or ask my bannermen to commit forces for a war in which I do not know the cause or for which the cause is not justified. So when King Kyle asks me why I will not commit the Reach to war in his support, I will direct him to you and Lord Mason."
He pointed at the man's chest.
"We can do this one of two ways. Either you tell me how Meghan Lannister died or I will send my brother Maester Godfrey of Highgarden to examine the body and he will tell me."

"Or you will stop pointing at me and respect the neutrality of House Mason, by signed treaty among all five kingdoms, immediately. King Kyle received my report. He did not ask me to inform everyone who passes by of its contents."

"I am not 'everyone'." replied Rycherd darkly.
"I am the King's cousin, the Lord of Highgarden, Defender of the Marches and High Marshal of the Reach, one small step below the rank of King myself. Not to mention the cousin of this poor girl here."

"There is no such thing as a 'small step' below a king, Lord Tyrell. I will once more respectfully ask you leave."
