Benjen stared hard at the man, the hand that held his sword squeezing so hard it went white. He turned to look up at Meghan, turned back to the man. He closed his eyes, taking a deep breath. Then another. Old Gods, if ever I needed your help then help me now...
"Even if I let you go I cannot trust you to let her live," He finally says, opening red-rimmed eyes. "I am so sorry," He whispered, Meghan's face flashing before his eyes, her voice singing in his ear. He raised his sword and hacked down at the man's head.

The man is shocked but manages to dodge the first slash. His Valyrian blade parries the second strike, but shatters on impact, apparently being purely ceremonial. Prince Benjen's third stroke lifts the man's head from his shoulders and lands it into the courtyard below.
When Benjen turns around, he sees the broken body of Meghan Lannister and the guardsman on the courtyard floor.

Benjen throws his sword to the ground and just stares down at the dead girl, a heavy weight descending down on the young Prince. He almost buckles where he stands but slowly he begins to walk, almost stagger, down the stairs to where Meghan Lannister lay.

Lars moves beside the Prince and looks at the apparent Lannister girl. "We should leave, with a Lannister dead there will be questions."
(OOC: yeah I read that wrong some how.)

Benjen is stopped by the immovable mass of Ser Hollis Clegane. The grim helmetless knight has a solitary tear fall down his face. "We fought together today, so you live today, Prince of the North. But one day, we shall see each other again. That day shall be your last." He turns around, and with a gentleness shocking in the normally unquenchably savage warrior, scoops up the young woman's body and walks away wordlessly.

"I don't care, Clegane," Benjen calls out after the man, his face a mask close to breaking. "I don't... care."

Clegane's response is as silent as Meghan's.
