The sept is a charnel house; thirty dead bodies sat in the pews with open canons as though worshipping in death. A lone man sits at the altar, then turns and smiles at them pleasantly. "Welcome to Masonton Sept." He has glassy black eyes. "The Seven's blessings upon you. For the innocent shall inherit the earth, whilst those of many worldly possessions shall find it easier to re-enter life from death than see the promised kingdom."

Ghaston looked around at the carnage of the carefully placed corpses. This grisly scene had no place on holy ground. He gritted his teeth, fixing hard set eyes on the strange man sitting on the altar.
"Do not quote the holy scriptures to me!" he spat, striding towards the man with his fellow Warrior's Sons, blades drawn. "The Seven do not smile down on this abominable act. Surrender or face the Warrior's justice!"

Oberyn stalked into the sept a few steps behind the Warrior's Sons, his men fanning out behind him. "You would do well to heed him, for His High Holiness and the Father Above have no love at all for false prophets and blasphemers," he said, pointing at the man with his spear, though his tone softened as he continued. "You may yet escape the gruesome fate that I am sure awaits you if you do not repent, but you must tell us who has been commanding your actions, and toward what purpose."

Gerold stood at the entrance to the sept keeping watch on the outside to avoid any surprise guests joining their little meeting.

"But the Father's work is begun!" The man says with a beatific smile. "And who are you to call me a false prophet!?? I am the chosen of the Stranger! Of COURSE you think i'm a false prophet..." His smile vanishes. "But no false prophet can do this." To their utter horror, Ser Ghaston and Lord Yronwood see the corpses at the pew begin to...move. "The Stranger's wrath upon the unbelievers. The blood of the innocent can only clean the stain of Westeros for so long! The sacrifice is meaningless!" Now they have no idea what he is spewing.

"Whatthafuck." The words escape Oberyn's lipsbefore he can stop himself, and his sun-browned skin pales visibly when the dead begin to move. Gripping his spear so tightly he thought it might shatter in his hands, the Lord collects himself and sinks into a defensive crouch, waiting to see how the Knight Commander would react.

As the bodies move, Ser Markus Dayne holds Dawn before him, and suddenly lurches to the side to avoid an arrow. From holes in the ceiling, nearly impossible to note in the night sky, the men see crossbows pointing downward. "Above! Ser Gerold find the stairs! Kill the archers!" Fortunately, if nothing else, the angle makes accurate fire nearly impossible, but the corpses are starting to face the men now, and the courage of many a fine and otherwise bold knight seems to be fleeing. The madman on the stairs cackles.
"Judgment to the unfaithful! You shall all suffer for your tolerance of foreign gods! For he who allows a poisoner to remain among you is himself a blight!"

"By the Seven..." Ghaston exclaimed in a hushed whisper as the corpses stood and began to turn towards them.
"Courage, my brothers!" he shouted, noting the fear of his companions. "The Warrior's Sons of Old were famed as demonhunters and dragonslayers! We will not balk from this madman and his desecration of the Seven's home! As he clearly serves the Lord of the Seven Hells, we shall send him to his master!"
He raised his shield, the rainbow sword of the Warrior's Sons emblazoned upon it, and attempted to charge through the lurching horrors towards his foe.

Round 1:
Archers:
127 152 158 160 122 137
The crossbow bolts lance down into the sept, 2 missing but four burying themselves into household knights, cutting their number almost in half before the battle can be properly joined.

Round 1: (Properly)
Ser Ghaston: 142 Lord Oberyn: 163 Ser Markus Dayne: 177 Ser Myles: 130 Ser Sylar:121
Men: 88 153 97 62 146
Culty: Runs Away!
Corpses:
....BRAINS!!!
Roof:
Ser Gerold: 142
Archers: 40 sword, +20 for outnumbering Gerold 6 to 1
Archer 1: 99 Archer 2: 98 Archer 3: 78 (-35) Archer 4: 74 (-35) Archer 5: 110 Archer 6: 90
The fight begins as the weakened forces charge the dead, hacking off limbs and cutting the corpses to pieces. It turns out rotted bodies, even moving ones, don't fight worth a damn. Dawn cleaves through three at a time, but even so, by the time they clear the room, the leader has made it out the back door. Above they hear the sound of Ser Gerold battling six men alone. The archers didn't expect such a sudden assault, and the foresight he had in guarding the entrance proves critical to his onslaught.

Ser Ghaston runs after the villain, blade slick with gore from the zombified horde. It hungered for the blood of the wicked, rather than the blood of those he had slain.

Round 2: (Roof)
Gerold: 177
Archer 1: 91 Archer 2: 116 Archer 3: 160 Archer 4: 31 (Dead) Archer 5: 74 (Dead) Archer 6: 76 (Dead)
Ser Gerold Sand can fight like few, even if he is not so widely known, and he kicks two wounded men off the roof and impales a third, all while using his plate and shield to ward off the blows of the other three. No man up there has a chance at fighting him...
