"Good. Then we shall and so we can enjoy many a night in the East...it will be a vacation of sorts."

"Yes. Of course. But we will need a priest," she said. "But I don't know how we can find one because they'd be sure to tell the King, if there's any even here, and I don't think the king wants us to marry until after we've been East."

"Then I fear we must suffer the stigma of a couple living in debauchery...I do not wish to wait a year or more for you." He looks at her.

Reyna frowned.
"I can't do that. It would quite ruin my reputation and might make other men pursue me. Neither of us wants that. So...I think we had better be married. I'm just not sure how. Maybe there will be some exiled priest of the Drowned God across the sea," she said wistfully.

"You're marrying into the North," Dustin points out.

"Yes, but I was raised to worship the Drowned God as a child. I want His blessing upon our union," she said. "I don't mind if the ceremony follows your Northern customs, but I would like the seawater blessing."

"Then bring a priest from the Islands with you." He suggests.

"I will," she said. "But I won't tell him why. I can't have my father or the King interfering. In the meantime, I suppose we shall have to think longingly of one another on our separate ships."

"I suppose we will. Better than the same whilst able to see and touch and feel each other otherwise, though." Dustin looks about. "It will be an experience."

"Yes. I shall lie in my maiden's bed and think only of my one true love," she said with a smile. Ilkl miss you."

He kisses her as his assent. "I shall see you in the East."

"A few of my cousins, the servants have a section...the works. If you're hungry the kitchen is in back. Domeric will have something good." He opens a tent flap to what must be his room and flops onto the lashed-together cots. He rolls over and opens a bottle of wine. Arania sees at least fifteen more in the room. "Take your pick." When she gets a bottle, he pours her a glass of it.

"I don't think I could eat," she said, gesturing at the swollen cheek. "Had a bit of soup earlier, but anything too hot or too cold seems to wreak havoc. Thank you." She accepted the glass from him, inhaling the sweet scent and swallowing a good amount immediately. "That's much better," she sighed, going to the far corner of the room to drag a chair over.

"You're very...different from other people I've met," he states. "Your calm after all you've been through this week is...admirable. I am quite impressed, Arania Hightower.' He raises a glass.

"Am I? Are you?" she said, dragging the chair into position, then letting herself fall into it. She shrugged, raising her glass to him in return. "It simply wouldn't do to lose my head. After all, everyone else seems to be doing that for me." She drank deeply again, holding her glass tightly with both hands.
