The tourney starts and the contestants spend a bit spreading out to find their opponents. Lancers get an early charge, but with few exceptions, it doesn't prove crucial to the result. As warriors pick their enemies and commence battle, the early standout is Lord Ragnar, who knocks Ser William Marshall clearly off his horse with a powerful combination of sword strikes. The crowd's eyes are mostly diverted, however, to Ser Justin Mallister and Ser Markus Dayne, the two famed jousters splintering lances and then hacking at each other with greatswords, to no effect.

Prince Arthur Martell, NPC Sword, Lance, Plate, Shield (140) Ser Clarence Blackwall, NPC Sword, Plate, Shield, Lance (140)
As the field starts to shrinnk, it is in the middle that the fury is raged, as Ser Liam Mallister smites Giant Ivan with a powerful strike from his mace. Smelling a worthy foe, Lord Ragnar Drumm urges his horse towards his ancestral rival. The two dance on their steeds a moment before the powerful Iron Lord lands a rib blow with his blade.
The Rose and the Bloodroyal have another hotly contested action, the younger rose lord finally exploiting a weakness in guard to close the gap on the experienced warrior, bruising his recovered shoulder.
The stunning Ser Gerold Sand, underappreciated for his role in the earlier fight, takes some small revenge for his oversight by dominating the Marshall of the Faith Grey, his spear catching the man's helmet and leaving Sean Connery feeling like he did after making The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.
The other fights are brutal and no one save Lord Rykker manages to land a blow of significance, but the crowd cheers their respective heroes on as the melee rages like one of Storm's End's gales.

Lord Oberyn Yronwood: 81 Spear, Chain, Shield, 50 Horsemanship (152) (-5) Lord Rycherd Tyrell: 80 Sword, 75 Lance, Plate, 50 Horsemanship (169)
Lord Robert Dondarrion: 90 Sword, Plate, Shield, 50 Horsemanship (126) Erik Pyke: 70 Great Axe, Lance, Chain, Horsemanship (84) (-15)
Ser Gerold Sand: 92 Spear, 75 Lance, 80 Horsemanship, Plate, Shield (140) Ser Liam Mallister: 85 Mace, Chain, Shield (174) Lord Ragnar Drumm: 86 Sword, Chain, Shield (152) (-10)
Ser Percy Oakheart: 75 Greatsword, Plate (167)
Ser Jon Bracken: 85 Swords, 93 Lance, Plate Shield, 50 Horsemanship (87) (out)
Ser Justin Mallister: NPC, Plate, Shield (When using Lance) (196) (-5) Ser Markus Dayne: NPC Greatsword, Lance, Plate, Shield when using Lance (199)
Harryld of the Marches: NPC Sword, Chain, Shield (104) Lord Morrys Tarly: NPC Sword, Lance, Plate, Shield (190)

Prince Aaron Baratheon, NPC Two-hand Mace, Plate (121)

Prince Arthur Martell, NPC Sword, Lance, Plate, Shield (169) Ser Clarence Blackwall, NPC Sword, Plate, Shield, Lance (132) (-15)
The melee is increasing in intensity now. As the crowd roars, Ser Markus Dayne senses weakness and masterfully feints against the heir to Seagard, but unbelievably, the legendary knight grabs the Sword of the Morning and closes the distance to let the blow fall harmlessly against his plated side. The two separate and clash again and again, but even slightly wounded Mallister is a match for his rival.
Lord Robert Dondarrion finally scores a good solid blow against his pesky Ironborn rival, the more inexperienced man blocking too hard, letting the Lightning Lord strike him on the helm. Erik feels a bit of blood but he continues on.
Ser Percy Oakheart, an unheralded Reachman, shocks the crowd by unhorsing the fan favorite and often eccentric Jon Bracken, his two handed sword relentless against his opponent's repeated blocks, never once giving up the initiative.
The speedy Harryld of the Marches' primary advantage is easily negated in the format, and his opponent, the cruel yet brilliant swordsman Tarly unhorses him to the dismay of all Dornish in the audience.
The crowd gains a certain degree of sympathy for Lord Ragnar, as he suffers a hit fighting Ser Liam, and is then set upon by an otherwise unoccupied Ser Gerold Sand. The ironborn is stoic and tough, though, and with his blood up he suddenly dismounts in an unoccupied corner of the grounds and challenges both his opponents to come at him on foot. The crowd goes wild at the display of manliness, challenging two opponents whilst already wounded.

Prince Arthur Martell, NPC Sword, Lance, Plate, Shield (150) Ser Clarence Blackwall, NPC Sword, Plate, Shield, Lance (110) (-30 now)
Ser Justin Mallister hits the Sword the Morning so hard on an off-balance moment that the crowd seems to feel the shockwave. Ser Markus falls off his horse limply, but the honorable northern knight dismounts to make sure he isn't trampled.
Ser Percy Oakheart, perhaps a bit full of himself, attacks Lord Morrys Tarly, and after a few seconds suffers a hit he didn't even see coming. He begins to think that the man is a legend for a reason...whilst in another corner, the heir to Dorne is making a name for himself, as he drives back the possibly still-injured Ironlands knight Blackwall with blow after blow.
Robert Dondarrion finally finishes off his opponent and looks about for Lord Yronwood, then remembers that sadly he is on the same team as his mortal enemy. Lord Oberyn manages to catch Tyrell off-balance and hits him a solid blow across the right leg which will leave a bruise.
For all the epic battles, though, the crowd's eye with Ser MArkus out is now drawn to the isolated corner where Lord Ragnar Drumm has challenged his two greenlander opponents. The fight circle and strike and parry and riposte and slam and hack, but the greenlanders have never fought together, and their small gaps in coverage enable Ragnar to land a blow on the heretofore untouched Ser Gerold.

Prince Arthur Martell, NPC Sword, Lance, Plate, Shield (104) (out) Ser Clarence Blackwall, NPC Sword, Plate, Shield, Lance (165) (-30 now)
The Dornish are thrilled as their young heir drives the Ironborn knight back, but that seems to be a trap, as suddenly, in one carefully placed yet savage strike, Ser Clarence hits him so hard that rather than fall the young prince lifts into the air prior to landing. After a hushed moment, he raises one hand to show he is all right and the crowd cheers.
The other remaining Ironborn is wowing the crowd, still battling two opponents, using mobility afforded by his chain and experience gained through years of constant struggle. He parries a carefully placed spear thrust and uses the resulting space to punch Ser Liam in the face with his gauntleted hand, and blood flies from the hole in the younger eagle's helm.
The rest of the melee has devolved into a slugfest of two on ones, and no one else seems to be gaining any particular advantage.

Sense is lost in the wind as Ser Percy Oakheart decides he wants to be famous too, keeping in the fight and managing to score a shocking hit on Lord Morrys, who even behind his helmet looks extremely pissed off. Lord Robert attacks Ser Clarence, but the Iron Knight is angry now, angrier than ever, and he dodges and fiercely stabs the man in an opening in his armor.
Once again Ragnar Drumm is on fire, now hitting both his opponents back, driving them towards a corner in the wall and thusly negating their advantage in numbers. The crowd goes wild, and many a young maiden would volunteer to be the warlord's salt wife at the moment...

After a titanic struggle, Lord Oberyn manages to defeat the Lord Paramount of the Reach, albeit barely. He breathes out and considers how ever-so-close he is to getting too old for this shit, and sees to his shock the only Dornishman still remaining is Ser Gerold Sand.
Sand is in the fight of his life himself, as Lord Ragnar's relentless and seemingly inexorable advance finally crushes Liam Mallister. He pushes the Eagle knight into his opponent and then uses the confusion to beat him absolutely senseless, stopped only by the Dornish bastards' recovery and counterattack.
Lord Robert is on his heels against Blackwall, but refuses to give ground even after another hit, stubbornly holding his ground and waiting for his moment. Help could be on the way i nthe form of Krieger Templeton as he defeats Lord Rykker and heads to his assistance.
Ser Percy, meanwhile, is miraculously still assisting Mallister in his struggle with his greatest rival, the bitter enemies fighting more like mad dogs than men now.

Honorable and puissant, Lord Oberyn doesn't wish to engage an opponent two to one, but he looks about and all the fights are that way now, so he swiftly dismounts and heads to assist his Dornish brethren Ragnar, however, is alerted at the last second by a brown-haired Ironborn girl who likes drowning salt wives, and with a speed nearly unheard of, spins, knocks the spear aside, and a side blow to the head leaves the Bloodroyal off in a land where he shags Lord Dondarrion's wife whilst urinating on a temple of Rh'lorr. It is, of course, a fantasy land for him. Ser Gerold manages a blow finally on the elusive lord while he knocks the Bloodroyal out.
Lord Robert sees his hated rival fall, and presses his now-joint attack on Clarence Blackwall, but the giant knight manages to send him to a similar yet different dream world of being fellated by Oberyn's daughter while the Bloodroyal fans him with a palm leaf. Clarence is resigned to his opening as the surprising Krieger Templeton then finishes him off.
Morrys Tarly is now enraged and unleashes an entire century's worth of wrath on Percy Oakheart, who is hit four times falling down.

Ser Gerold Sand: 92 Spear, 75 Lance, 80 Horsemanship, Plate, Shield (94)(-20) Lord Ragnar Drumm: 86 Sword, Chain, Shield (80) (-20)

There is a world of difference between an injured Clarence Blackwall and a furious Morrys Tarly, as Templeton discovers while attempting to assist the battling Justin Mallister. He goes for an attack that has worked thrice in the fight so far for him, but Morrys simply steps into it and headbutts him so hard that his nose shatters underneath his helmet.
The remaining two fighters are exhausted and their blows come slower and slower, now more based on cunning than ferocity. Lord Ragnar has carried the field before him, but cannot finish the wily Dornishman.

Lord Ragnar finally gets a successful faint, and his sword is more suitable for tired-fighting than the Dornishman's spear, as he can ignore the weaker thrusts and focus on putting all of the Drowned God's rage into a stroke that would sever Ser Gerold's head were he not wearing plate. As it is, the knight falls and yields to the warlord, who turns and prepares to try assisting his beleauguered teammate Tarly, who is on the defensive against the as-usual superb sword of Justin Mallister.

Lord Ragnar arrives to fight the Great Eagle as he forces his rival to submit with a flurry of attacks much to quick for most eyes to follow, even with a two hand sword Justin Mallister is an apparent engine of death, tireless and relentless. He finishes off Tarly and looks about in apparent surprise to see the Ironborn Lord the only one left. He stops just long enough to salute the Drumm, then approaches him with an unhurried, almost casual gait...

Mallister: 113 (-20) Drumm: 157 (-20)
To the crowd's shock and general approval, Ragnar manages to avoid the first strokes of the Seagard heir, and senses a moment and makes his attack, his sword clanging hard on Justin's left shoulder. The arm will definitely be hurting, and the legendary warrior staggers keeping his greatsword up.

Ser Justin: 166 Ragnar: 154
The struggle continues, Justin's shoulder hurting. He is far too experienced to fall for the tricks Ragnar led the others into, htough, and the crowd goes absolutely berserk as again the Ironborn lord is too quick and clever to allow the man to bring his potent greatsword on line.

Justin: 143 Ragnar: 156
Still the combat continues, swords clanging off the weakened warriors; they seem to lack the strength to pierce the other's armor, but are far too stubborn and aggressive to quit. Ragnar makes a clever sword parry/shield bash combination that nearly works, but it is advertised a shade too much and the other knight backs up to avoid it.
