Ghaston grunted and slid the longsword back in its sheath.
"Follow my orders and stay where I can see you, Sand." he said gruffly, before turning his horse around and riding towards the village.

Ser Gerold nodded in thanks to Ser Markus then turned back to Ser Ghaston. "As you command." Gerold replied then smiled as he mounted again and followed the group toward the village.

Lord Yronwood was already moving toward his own pavilion, his squires running ahead of him to get the men prepared. "I will ride with you, Ser, and the Lordsbane shall see the justice he deserves!" he called behind him as he moved. When Ser Ghaston rode out of the camp, seven knights of Yronwood, including Lord Oberyn, rode with the Warrior's Sons.

High Septon Warryn and his men are cleaning up from the disaster the night prior. "Ser Ghaston! Is the traitor brought to justice?" He looks angry, unusual for him, and he waves his hand about. "Defilers of the Seven have desecrated our sept!"

The High Septon appeared serene when compared to the fury building on his Knight-Commander's face. this was the second home of the Seven he had seen desecrated in a single night. He swore that there would not be a third.
"Lordsbane eluded capture." he said, holding up a lump wrapped in white cloth, parts of it stained crimson. "But a more potent enemy of the Faith was brought to justice. A sorcerer and defiled in league with daemons, that brought dead men to life and send them against us."

"Too much sorcery tonight. Meghan Lannister dead, Prince Stark and Hollis Clegane slew another sorcerer...no." Warryn's eyes have a fire in them. "This cannot go unanswered. This has all the trademarks of that bastard Red God."

Ser Ghaston raised an eyebrow as the events of the night were revealed, and the High Septon's swearing.
"The thought had occurred to be, but the deluded man claimed to be doing the Seven's work." Ghaston replied. "Either way, you are right that we cannot let this stand."

"He claims to serve the Seven..." Warryn is shaking with rage. The man has never been so mad, not in the quarter century that Ghaston had known him. "But, you are my sword, my right hand, Ser Ghaston. I am not in my right mind; I cannot let the Stranger guide me to rash deeds. How should the Faith respond to such a blatant attack?"

"First we must learn more of our new enemy, Your Holiness." Ghaston replied, taking the iron coin from his pocket and flipping it to the High Septon. "Lordsbane is our best lead. He must be found, question, and brought to justice."
Ser Ghaston approached his troubled friend and put a hand on his shoulder, his eyes steel despite the warm action.
"This is not the time for the Mother's mercy. We cannot appear weak in the face of such an affront. Our enemies must know the Father's justice, the Warrior's blade, and the Stranger's embrace. Westeros must be purged."

"Yes. The signs are clear. Too long we have tolerated the impious Red Gods and the trees." The High Septon narrows his eyes. "Find these...sorcerers, and slay them all. Ser Ilyn can be dealt with by lesser tools."

"It will be done, Your Holiness." Ghaston replied solemnly. "We must learn all we can before we strike." -------------
"I thought you'd never ask, commander." Brother Silas intoned, stepping from the shadows in brown robes, his pale skin and red eyes eerie in the candlelight. "Your Holiness, if I may." he said, reaching out a bone white hand for the iron coin.
(Bot sure how rolling spy networks works, but I guess roll to see if he's already heard anything. 75 for each region on mainland westeros.)

The iron coin is not Westerosi.

A few days after everything has settled down a messenger from King Kyle Lannister arrives, informing Ser Ghaston that His Grace would like to speak to the representatives of the Faith. High Septon Warryn has already accepted the offer to talk.
