"I am no weakling," Ragnar said firmly. "As I hope you will see."

"Good. If I thought you were, Hannah never would have gotten the chance to meet you." Lord Gowen tilts his head back and his young wife drips wine down his throat. "She is more clever than she lets on. I hope she is as useful to you outside of bed as in it."

"AYe, so do I," Ragnar agreed. "Good day, Lord Gowan."
He left.

The Iron Island lords are assembled with many others present, including Hannah Blacktyde.
King Euric is seated on his travel throne. "The rest of the greenlanders want to go east, lords. Meet dragons. I am curious as to what the fuck you all think about that?"

"I've no interest in dragons," Ragnar admitted. "But perhaps we can use this to our advantage, if the lords' guard is lowered."

Euric shook his head. "Not likely. They aren't sending the whole Arbor Fleet or anything. This concerns us, though; if they make common cause with the Free Cities they may find a fleet to match us. We cannot ignore the possibility."

"Of course. So we must make sure that doesn't happen. Could we send someone to speak to the Free Cities on our behalf?"

"We could." He looked at Drumm. "My brother. But, they'll expect an honor guard of imposing and powerful lords. Appearance is everything for the weasels."

"Of course. Are you asking me to go, King?" Ragnar asked. "I do not object."

"Good. When you marry and set your affairs in order back at Old Wyk we shall commence. I will let you know more on the Islands; too many little whisperers here."

"Of course. I had a notion to visit the Citadel after my wedding but I doubt there's time now," Ragnar said. "I am curious about this business that has occured recently. We must be on our guard against sorcery."

"Hm. Any other man, less badass than old Lord Drumm, I would call a coward. You...well, perhaps you are on to something." He chuckles.
"Remember, we only need one ally. The rest we can reave all we like."

"Aye. Have any of our people had any specific dealings with any of the Free Cities in the recent past? Either good or bad."
