Malryas nodded in sympathy. "Well, it's all about finding the right man, then, I suppose. But I apologize for wasting your time." He raises her hand to his lips and delicately kisses it. "I hope we meet again, my lady."

Opposing roll: 127
Moving to find a good spot, Jory notes three men with crossbows fixed, not exactly AT him but in his general direction.

"Yes, it is," she agreed. She let him kiss her hand. "But no, I do not think it was a waste of time. It was my pleasure to meet you, Maester Haviland," she added with a smile. "I, too, would be glad to meet you again. Until then, my pen is at your service."

"I appreciate it, my lady." She hears weird clicking noises from outside. As she leaves, she notes he slips easily outside through a hole in the tarp she didn't even see. He waves at the eavesdropper. "Jory Stone! No need to skulk! come on inside, you old scoundrel!"

"Mally! So good to see you!"
Jory walked inside. Damn that guy was good.
"You know, I thought I was pretty well hidden out there."

Arania left the unmarked tent, noting its place in the sea of similar ones. She wandered off, smiling to herself. He was a tricky fellow, that Bolton. She was having great fun and she had yet to leave the vicinity of the Goldland tents.

After refreshing himself Rycherd walked around the tents of his bannermen noting which of them had arrived and greeting various lords. Two of his personal guard followed at a discreet distance..

Arania spied the green and gold banners of the Tyrells. The families had travelled north together, along with the rest of the Reach nobility. She had seen the Lord Tyrell a few times, but never spoken to him. Perhaps this would be her chance. She waited until he was unoccupied and then she approached him, confidently, curtseying as was expected and greeting him. "Good afternoon, my lord. It was a long ride from the south, was it not?"

Rycherd studied the slender girl in front of him who, when she stood, was almost as tall as he. Quite comely too he noted. And it appeared about seventeen or eighteen years of age. Her dress indicated that she was not lowly born, so he smiled graciously.
"Indeed it was. I am glad to finally be here."
He studied her closely for a moment as if trying to jog his memory.
"I'm sorry. I do not know your name. You are?"

She raised one eyebrow. "Arania Hightower. I was certain you would know me. Perhaps I presumed too much." She looked him over. If anything, he reminded her of her brother. He had a similar martial bearing.

"Perhaps you did." replied Rycherd, amused despite himself, although he was careful not to let this show on his face.
He looked her over ly.
"Well Arania Hightower, I am pleased to meet you. Maybe I should have come to Oldtown more often over the past couple of years."

"Maybe. Oldtown is a fascinating place. There are always ships coming in, bringing new and fascinating things," she said. Small talk was, unfortunately, not her forte. "I have been to Highgarden few enough times myself."

"My sisters and mother would make you welcome, if you were to visit in my absence." replied Rycherd, a hint of a smile reaching his lips. He spread his hands to indicate their surroundings. "Unfortunately matters often keep me away from Highgarden."
"Now Arania Hightower, to what do I owe the pleasure? You did not approach me to make small talk I am sure. Is your father here?"

She had more important things to do than to go visiting ladies like his mother and sisters, who were no doubt as tiresome as her own, but she did not tell him that. Instead, she smiled at him. "My father is in our pavilion, no doubt. Just over there." She gestured in the direction from which she had come. "I confess, it was no more than curiosity which led me to speak with you. I simply wanted to know a little more of the Lord of Highgarden, and when would I get a second chance?"
