He nods. "You have taken the culture of the West well, I was impressed when I first heard you speak, I am sure you are good at what you do." He gives her a kind smile and points to a chair. "May I sit?"

"I suppose so," she said, a bit disappointed to turn the conversation away from the maybes of the political stage. "I think it could be interesting to watch, the best men of every house across the kingdom. See how many sigils I remember. Will you be competing?"

"Of course, as a Prince is expected to," Benjen replied, leading the way around the path set out through the camp. "Of course it is always to be expected that my opponents may pull their punches... which makes the whole thing a little boring, don't you think?"

"Well, no one wants to cause an incident by damaging the heir to the north, but I can see how it would be boring to go through the motions without even being challenged," she agreed. "Everything is more worthwhile if there is a challenge involved."

"May I sit?" "If you wish, yes. A short visit would not hurt. Would you like a drink? There's wine or ale." She indicated the nearby flagons. "You speak most kindly, ser. It is but my duty to fit in with those I serve."

"Everything? Perhaps, though I am not sure eating or sleeping should be a challenge," Benjen joked. "Enough of me and my advantageous birth however; tell me a little about yourself, lady Arania."

He smiles at that, "Yes, my lady wine if you would please but just a glass, I feel any more and it would look bat upon myself."
He leans back. "I am sorry if I am intruding I simply did must come see you, I had a desire to meet you." He said honestly.

"I will forgive the intrusion this time. Flattery is always welcome to a lady," she said gently.
She poured a goblet of wine - Arbor gold - and handed it to him.
"Do you enjoy Dorne?"

He takes it. Impressed. "Dorne is interesting, the years I spent there I had learnt much. Much like I am sure you will learn." He smiles. "How do you like the west."

"It's well enough. Very different to home, but I enjoy the grandeur. The Iron Islands are sparse by comparison. Which is well and good, because hard lands breed hard people, but it's nice to get a taste of how other people live, isn't it"?
She smiled warmly at him.
"And the West is certainly grand. I shall be sorry to leave when the time comes."

"I can tell you really enjoy your job, I admire that in you, It is rare to find now a days." He gives her a polite smile. "Might I ask, do you like to read?" He smiles.

"Yes. I especially enjoy poetry and tales of chivalry," she said truthfully. "Not very Ironborn, I know, but my people aren't much for writing down their own tales."

He nods. "I have to admire that, I would have to agree that it is not very Ironborn like, but very intelligent." He said. "And very westerlandly." He takes a sip from the glass.

"No, it shouldn't." She smiled in spite of herself. She thought a moment. "My life isn't so interesting. Or maybe it is. A maiden living in a tower, with only books for friends. Of course I was never lonely."

"Books were my friends too, in Winterfell," Benjen said in agreeing tones. "What other world does one need but the one found in writing?" He chuckled. "Do you write yourself?"
