Marlow hefts his warhammer high, giving his best warcry at the natives.

While the land bridge is only about six or seven feet wide, with their long weapons they can still strike from the swamp itself. The tower is only about seventy yards away and he can easily run there without being caught.
Marlow: 156 Warrior: 98 Warrior: 148
Marlow smashes one of the approaching tribesmen with his mace but the other nimbly dodges and backs up, awaiting more help to deal with the armor-clad warrior.
Leona: 107 (+2 Agility)
Leona sinks into the muck and pulls the snake off, and sees the north man fending off the crocodile while the twins try escaping the muck. Lara is rushing to the lakeshore to grab a branch to try helping them out of the mud but the cannibals are approaching fast. Leona can run or, given the thick cover, try hiding in the near impenetrable foliage.

Marlow makes for his escape once again with only one opponent, turning towards the tower now as the prospect of being caught seems inevitable.

The cannibal lets Marlow enter the tower, which has a rotten entrance but is fundamentally sound. The stairs are slippery leading up to the second floor and down to the storage rooms below, but making a stand in the small outpost has at least some chance of success unless he is simply besieged.

To clarify, these are different towers about a quarter mile apart from each other.

Leona decided to try hiding in the foliage. She didn't want to exhaust herself from running if it could be avoided.

Moderate difficulty: 100 needed
107 (+3 Survival)
Leona grabs a hollow reed like she'd learned once, long ago, and she dips her head under the water and breathes through the reed while leeches and disgusting mud and more squirm near her. Not being able to see her, she hears muffled shouts from the others before they begin fading, and then the rapid patter of pursuing footsteps as the natives continue their chase. For a long time, what seems a long time anyway, she holds herself underwater, the thick hollow blade of grass a fair snorkel, before at last the water snakes begin gathering about her and she surfaces, a three inch long leech dangling from her nose as her head breaks water. She sees in the very distance across the lake about a dozen natives and hears evidence of more but she sees little else.

Kurts made for the tower, drawing his sword in case it was inhabited.

Leona pulled the leech off herself and, wincing at how wet her wet close clung to herself, she continued on through the swamp. She looked around for a possible sighting of her companions.

Marlow moves up to the second floor and decides to make his stand, gaining the advantage of both high ground and footing, hopefully. With plate and hammer, he prays to the Warrior for strength and the Stranger for a good death.

Kurts bursts into the tower, which has no door, and looking about it is simply an uninhabited building, no sign of life at all. The natives seem reluctant to approach the stone structures, and both Kurts and Marlow see their respective pursuers talking to each other as though debating the risk/reward of actually attacking the spires. From his second floor view, Marlow can gain a glimpse of the land out east, where he sees a stone road about a half mile from his current location, running northwest to southeast.
Cleaning herself, Leona cannot catch a glimpse of the other survivors, and the sounds of the cannibals lurk about her still but they are bypassing the swamp and taking the long way around now, since their scouts have flushed everyone they know of outside her bog. She can stay put a bit or head to the lake or continue forward, after the lead natives and her friends.

Marlow uses the time he has to search the tower and fortify his position, preparing for a war of attrition if it comes to it. When the time comes or the natives leave, he will head for the road. [Survival- 70. Fortifications- 0. ]

Kurts loads a bolt in his crossbow and fires a bolt at his pursuers as they debate assaulting the tower, all too eager to give them one more reason to sod off.

Kurts misses his shot due to the thick trees, but the natives seem more reluctant to enter the tower then before and they jabber among themselves another moment. After fifteen minutes or so another man arrives and looks excited and chats to them and they look relieved as they leave the tower alone.
Marlow has much the same experience, whether it is superstition or some unknown more practical reason the locals refuse to approach the tower and they start heading east, maybe pursuing the rest of the original group or perhaps to lay an ambush later on. The second floor of the tower is near forty feet high, and while distance can measured the thick canopies of the short bog trees is impossible to see through.
Leona is able to find a dry pathway and avoids the natives for now, seeing the armored men in the towers she can continue on and make her own trail or find a hiding spot.
(Roll already passed for Leona so giving you the option. +2 survival)
