"Well you'll not get much farther in that wreck and we're under crewed, so I have a proposition that solves both our problems, as we're heading to the same place." he suggested. "You lot come over here. We get a full crew and you get a ship that's not limping along"

"Sounds like an offer worth considering, but some of my companions are gently bred women unused to manual labour. I'm an experienced sailor, myself, and willing to do my share. But if you see us to the harbour where we may find safe passage home, I'll make sure my brother sees you well rewarded."
She paused to let it sink in. "I'm Leona Redwyne, of the Arbor."

"Well, milady, I would be a brute not to offer aid in your time of need," he replied, with seeming deference to her station and name. "I've fought and bled for the Goldlands my entire life."
He lowered the gangplank between the ships.
"Now if you and your companions want to gather up the sails so that we may patch our own and head on over with anything of use, we can be on our way with haste, out of this nightmare."

Marlow eyes the crew of the other ship, especially Leona, with no attempt to hide his suspicion. "Just don't pull any funny business, we're good, kind people over here."

"So are we," Leona replied, fighting back a laugh. "We won't be long. You are good people, to be sure, and I hope we can be of use to one another."
She turned to Marren. "Can you rouse the crew and get the sails and everything else packed up? Lara, I need you to gather the girls together."

After a time the gear is all packed up and the crew and others prepare to board the other vessel. Between both ships there are about thirty or thirty five individuals, enough to make a functioning crew for deep water sailing.

Leona gathered the girls around her before seeking out Marlow and Kurtz.
"Do you fine gentlemen have accommodation suitable for ladies?"

"You'll have to ask the captain," Kurts replied, good eye scanning the noblewomen. "Though I'm certain he'll do the appropriate thing and give up his cabin for proper ladies."

"Let's hope so. Who is the captain?" She asked. "Could you point me in his direction, please?"

He gestured towards the captain with a nod of his head, never having bothered to get the man's name.

The 'captain' has little more idea of how to sail than anyone else, but he once apprenticed to a tailor who made sails so it is closer to a ship than anyone else ever got. His name is Task ad he frowns as he sees Leona. "'Ello," he said shortly. "Yer the pirate queen then?"

She laughed at that. "Not yet, but maybe one day. Listen, I need the best accomodation for myself and my ladies. You know how it is. In return, I'll work damnably hard to get us where we're going. I've been sailing since I was a girl."

"Ain't no ladies here," Task said. "You ain't nobles in Sothoryos or Gorgossos or Lys. We all crew here, and we only pay in work."

"The girls will work as hard as they can," Leona vowed. "They can clean the deck, help cook our meals. And I'll help sail."

"Help?" He said, "you're the only one who ever worked on a ship here far as I can tell. If the winds come up we're all dead with me at the helm." The crew is now about thirty all told between the vessels, eight women and twenty three men. "Hopefully we make it to Gorgossos in a few days but I don't really know how to use the navigation equipment either."
