Where the fighters and contestants for games gather, the ring is a cattle pen surrounded by denizens of the town all hooting and hollering.

Philip Flowers arrives at the ring and watches for awhile. He looks around for someone who might tell him how to enter any of the contests.

There is a table where a few people have a sort of sign up event going, the low rate of literacy has them using colored tokens to denote events instead. The place is definitely more crowded as time goes on.

The first event is bare knuckle boxing. A dozen or so contestants sign up. The crowds cheer as the proper tourney starts.
First up is Rowan versus Alex the drunk and Philip versus Grinning Ben the butcher.

Rowan not having had much experience bare knuckle boxing is gamely up for both a challenge and a laugh.
Rowan gives it their best shot, and if nothing else would try to give the crowd something that is worth watching.
Rowan does not mind so much being laughed or jeered at just so long as the subject being ridiculed is not their curious gender state. Rowan usually enterse most of the contests for fun any how
(Not sure which stat as Rowan has no points in unarmed)

Round 1:
Rowan: 66 Alex: 22
Rowan starts off well, their fists keeping the shorter man at a disadvantage until the outlaw lands a solid left hook to the jaw. Alex is shaken but gets up in short order and the crowd cheers as Rowan fights honorably.
Philip: 79 What: 71
The knight has a better fight to start but the huge butcher is simply hard to hurt; several good punches land but fail to impact the giant' in any way. It hurts his left arm even blocking punches.

Round 2:
Rowan: 51 Alex: -9
Rowan ducks a desperate haymaker and lays out her opponent to cheers
Philip: 94 Ben: 13
Philip finally takes advantage of Ben's slow but strong ability to soak up damage; he hits him in the liver, which no one can withstand, then his left hand cuts up and catches him under the chin. The butcher doesn't go completely out but the referee stops the fight.

As the fighters rest, they see a strange woman walking about. Rowan recognizes her immediately as Bethan, a strange local witch who is said to tell futures and bless harvests and the like. Philip only sees a woman wearing a shirt entirely made of stitched together feathers of different birds and talking to the wind.

The woman looks at Rowean with her oddly endearing stare and a smile. "Rowan, my love. Life is fire and blood and sand and wind," she said, "like always. Earth and fire and air and water and the other that cannot be mentioned." She has a flower in her hair. "I feel so ignored lately; you have been so busy and not asking for a augury for success."
