Inside the hold Jakob is working on a lever. It opens after about fifteen seconds. "A Myrish combination lock," he said, "A vault, really. Impervious to opening. Lyonel will have the outermost combination," he said, steeping into the vault, then he points to two doors, one large, one much smaller. "You'll have the combination to the large door, and Alysse the small one. Your dowries will be inside the respective doors. Tell the combinations to no one. For any reason."

"Gods be good," she whispered, staring. "I had no idea...truly. It never occurred to me that you would take such precautions. Are you expecting us to find husbands so quickly that we cannot be married from home?"

"It's a weeks long voyage," he said. "And I would have suitors know how dedicated we are; the Lannisters would not believe we can afford what we claim. You will be able to show them you are worth a prince. Every precaution will be taken."

"Good. Do the men know about the money?" She asked. "Not that it's any of their business."

"Of course not, though the real crew will suspect it of course," he said. "The dowry is safe at the castle right now and will be transported the night before you leave." He claps her shoulder. "If you think seeing the chamber is inspiring, wait until you see the actual thing."

She laughed. "It's best it stays behind closed doors, truly. Though I wish hyou were keeping the money at home. But no matter, you have it under control, Jakob. I shall try not to think about the money too much and think more about possible husbands."

"Good," he said. "Then it is settled. The tourney is in a month, so best to leave within a few days to get there a bit early, maybe stop at Oldtown on the way. This ship will cut about six days off the travel time so it will leave you all the time you need to be ready."

"That's good to know," she said. "I wouls like to buy some new dresses, anyway, and Oldtown will be perfect for that."

"Are their tailors so much better than ours?" Jakob asked with a bit of a smile. "But that will be good, perhaps you can even convince our Lady of the Reach to accompany you."

"Mayhaps. I will make myself agreeable, I promise. And of couse a city has better tailors than we do. It's a great deal bigger, for one thing."

"Size is only one indicator of quality," Jakob said. "But I was in jest. Be safe, sister."

"I will. I will have your guards, after all." She was thoughtful for a moment. "I know we're not close, but I expect I'll miss you a little."

Jakob nodded slowly. "It is hard to grow close to someone you know one day you'll need to say goodbye to one day, for true. But..I do love you, Leona, and Alysse too. I shall miss both of you rather much." He kissed her cheek. "You shall be fine."

`"I know we will," she said, to reassure him. "I know we're fine with our kinsman and all the guards."

The lord smiled as the ship docked. "I shall see you soon," he promised as they disembarked.
