"I am telling you this to remember that, ultimately, as much as I desire for my sisters to be happy, tying ourselves to the most powerful families is their duty to the family," he said. "Finding the most handsome man alive is not. They...may not agree, which is why I am sending the ultimate businessman as my representative." His fingers steepled as he tapped them together. "There is some time before you need to depart, so inform me when the accounts are settled. I will handle your matters personally until you return."

"A wise choice, my lord. We don't want any Vance or Fallwell joining our family..." Lyonel chuckled, getting up from his seat and faking a shudder. "I'll see personally that that doesn't happen."

"Good," Jakob said. He rose. "Always a pleasure Lyonel. I shall discuss more with you before the journey. I still have to tell my sisters," he admitted. Lionel noticed some of the men about the young lord are unfamiliar and seem foreign, but years of war had left a relative lack of supremely talented guards around the kingdom. "I have to go put the children to bed now. I shall see you," he said as he rose to leave.
