Benjen goes to the keep and looks for his daughter Lyanna, who would be five now. Behind his back he holds two dolls - one of a princess in a pink dress and one of a knight with a sword.

The little princess is running about, telling everyone how nice they are and how she loves them so, when she sees her father. She squeals in glee and rushes to him and jumps onto him, and because his arms are behind his back her legs and arms wrap completely around him. "Daddy daddy daddy!" she bubbles. "You're home!"

Benjen grins down at his daughter, feeling at ease for the first time in a long wile. "I am, my little princess, and I have a gift for you. But you'll have to let me go first, little one."
He took the two dolls in one hand behind his back, using the other to muss up Lyanna's hair a little.

She lets go. "Gifts! I like gifts!" she proclaims. "Are you okay, daddy? I heard Kalvin say yo ugot in a big fight when he thought I was sleeping." She leans in. "He isn't good at watching me to make sure I sleep."

Benjen chuckled. "I didn't think he would be. I hope you haven't been giving uncle Kal too much trouble, little one." He grinned and pinched her cheek. "I did get into a bit of a fight but nothing I couldn't handle. There was a bad man that your father had to take care of."
He crouched down and put his other hand behind his back again. "Now, Lyanna, I will give you a choice." He held out both of the dolls, which had been artfully crafted and were sturdy enough to survive rigorous playing for a long time. "Princess or Knight?"

"Knight!" she squealed with glee and grabbed it. "I'm already your princess!"

Benjen grinned and let her take the knight. "I'll keep the princess safe in my rooms if you ever want to play with her too." He rose and studied his daughter for a moment. "How are you doing with your studies? In a few years, if you do well enough, I may let you train at swords with your brothers."

Lyanna made a face at that. "Why do I want a sword?" she points around. "I have a thousand thousand swords."

Benjen smiled. "Because you might have to defend yourself, my dear. Northern women are strong - they're leaders. But I leave it to you, my dear."
He took her head in hand and kissed her on the forehead.

She frowns at that. "Won't you protect me? And my brothers? I need to be smarter than them, not stronger. That's what Kalvin said."

"I will always protect you as long as I am able to; so will your brothers," Benjen promised her. "But you can never know what happens. What if you find yourself alone with a man who wishes you harm?"

"Pointy end goes in!" she said happily. "And then I run and find my brothers or you!"

Benjen smiled and mussed his little girl's hair again. "Something like that," he said. "Now why don't you go off and play with your new doll."

Robyn went to go and find The Crowl, presuming he would either have rooms in the keep, or would be eating there.
