As if it wasn't obvious. "So long as the man stays out of my way and lets me work," Amelia commented, moving out of his reach to take up her cup again. "I work best alone, with someone watching constantly over my shoulder."

"I believe staying out of the way of others is the man's specialty, quiet observation his bread and butter." he replied, gaze hardening a bit as she moved away. "You work best with what I allow you. I would recommend gratitude at this juncture."

Amelia considered that for a moment, deciding to remain resolute. "Do you want someone who works at their best capacity? I believe I did was you asked in Myr. I take Malryas' warning very seriously."

"Aye you did what you were asked when watched by an army." he reminded her. "This will tell us if you can do what you are asked when watched by an individual. Then perhaps we will see how you do when not watched at all. Your previous masters gave you too long a leash too quickly. I wont repeat the mistake."

"As long as he stays out of the way and let's me work," Amelia stated, finishing her drink. She set it down and studied it for a moment. "At least I know I can still use my magic."

"We would not be having this conversation if you could not." he remarked, studying her once more in her skimpy outfit. "Lucky you."

"Lucky you," Amelia responded with a smirk, before pushing herself against him again. "Thank you," She said, kissing him, before walking out the door with a swing to her hip to give him a good view of her retreating form.

Later that evening, still in the same get up, Amelia arrived hurriedly at Killion's chambers. "I have some important news," she stated. "I detected two strong traces of magic within the city. Strong enough to cause me some alarm."

Years spent at sea trained to react immediately to the first word of a ship spotted on the horizon kicked in; the king calling for his trio of Reapers, buckling on his swords, and beginning to throw on his armor.
"Where and what are they? he asked, not wasting anytime as he threw the chainmail over his head and began putting on his sandwyrm plate.

"What they are I couldn't tell," Amelia admitted. "But they are active, moving about. One was near the market and the other in the south, by the ports." She looked concerned. "I would advise caution with this. I searched expecting maybe to find something of moderate strength but this is quite something else."

"How strong?" he asked, as he finished dressing, sending a runner to order the gates of the sea wall closed and barred.

"Very strong, both of them," Amelia responded, throwing a cloak she had brought along over her shoulders. "I wouldn't try myself at a magical duel with either of them and I didn't recognize their scent." She studied Killion for a moment. "Some king's blood may be necessary if we want to face this."

"Done." he agreed, ordering twenty guardsmen to join them with his trio of royal guardsmen. "Lead the way then."
