The gates are open but the Ironborn guards come out. "Lord Ragnar! Welcome...home? Weren't you up north?" they ask, confused. "What happened?"

"I've seen creatures from nightmare," Ragnar said abruptly. "Strange things are afoot in this world. Sorcery brought me here, with God's favour. Where's the King? He should be here too?"

"No...he's up north," the guard said. "The Queen is here though. Follow us, m'lord," they lead him to Krakenhal.
The queen is on her throne, heavily pregnant. "Lord Ragnar! Welcome...ut we had no news of your imminent arrival..." she looks about. "Where's my husband? Where's the fleet?"

Ragnar bowed briefly to the Queen. "My apologies, Your GRace. My arrival here was not planned. The fleet's in the North still but God only knows what's happened to the king. I thought he was following me, but it seems not. I stepped through a...doorway. I don't know how else to describe it. And ended up here. I had no choice, it seemed that we were all about to die in the home of the dread god of the Others."

Tessa frowned. "That sounds insane enough to be plausible, I guess. Come on, then; we'll set you up for a room and send a healer to you. You look hurt," she said with concern. "Was Killion all right?"

"Well enough, though I don't recall if he was wounded at all Battle is a confusing place with little room for clear thought. And this truly was one of the strangest battles I've ever known. But I have faith in the king. He's bloody tough. I'm confident he'll be well."

Tessa leaned back and let out a long breath. "Don't let word of this get out," she said. "Not a damn word. Then, when you're ready, find him," she said in a dragon-like hiss.

"Aye, I will do as you say," Ragnar agreed "It's all madness anyway. Nobody would bloody believe me. But it happened, I swear it by blood and salt water. The king will be back with you soon, Your Grace."

Tessa nodded. "I certainly hope so. Frances Dayne won't be caged forever," she said. "And we have few enough ships here with most of them west."

"Are you having any difficulties, Your Grace?" He asked, concerned.

"My husband and three quarters of our armies are freezing in the far north," she said. "While the danger lies east. Yes, I am having some difficulties, my lord," she said. "We are missing all our best warriors and Frances Dayne is conquering the entire coastline of the Narrow Sea.

"Is there anything I can do to help before I search for the king?" Ragnar asked. Has Your Grace sent a messenger to fetch our fleet home?"

"No," she said. "I just found out you all were done up there apparently!" she said. "But we need the men badly, and hopefully more. Frances has quite the army and he's had months to train them."
