"Nothing you haven't seen before, just more impressive," he quipped, not bothering. "I'm going to Pentos," he said. "There are corpses that need reminding they are dead. Corpses trying to use barristers to claim my youngest sister's estate."

"There are corpses in the north that need the same reminding, Nick, because they're walking around killing people," Amelia said without humour in her voice. "When I was in Braavos I spoke with Faeron and we had a little experiment with that red powder. Turns out its main job is to transfer all the power generated by the sorcery it creates to beyond the Wall. Where Oriax is. I didn't know why, but then I spoke with Killion Greyjoy, who told me some of his men sailed beyond the Wall. They were attacked by dead men, Nick. Dead men lead by Shaun Redwyne."

"Good," Nick said. "I feel like Redwyne will be perfect to end their shitty existence forever. Nothing dead can pass the Wall. That magic is older than Valyria and everything else. Vhagus couldn't pass it. Oriax can't either," he said.

"Nick, you don't understand," Amelia said, looking very worried now. "The power that is being transferred North is vast. Faeron is afraid beyond belief. Oriax's men are everywhere. He manifested in Denys' house." She shivered, suddenly feeling cold. "He will find a way past the Wall. Redwyne is gathering ships. I need your help."

"Faeron once pissed himself about a garden snake," Nick said. "If you want to stop this drug menace you need to find where they create it. I can promise you it is not beyond the Wall. If he is sending a river of power north, you just create a drought." He looks phenomenally unconcerned for some reason. "Your friend Killion helped create this menace, you know. His reavers have been selling the shit for months." He shook his head. "You can all make the bed and fuck in it for all it concerns me."

The look on Ami's face is one of anger, which swiftly turns to rage. Not at Nick of course, but unfortunately he is the only one here.
"Listen to me damn it! I am going to the Wall to see what is going on and I need you! And Lyria and Morgan and all the others! But first I'm going to burn that fucking Greyjoy's cock to ashes!"

Nick acts like a light sprinkle has started. "I feel much the same way about my brother," he said. "I do believe he is lying to me about something. I cannot prove it, you know," he said airily, "but enjoy your rampage. If you fuck him again you can use his sperm to eat him alive," he suggests. "Or perhaps see if Oriax will take him in exchange for a truce." He yawned. "Or we can go t Pentos and roast everyone we hate to ashes."

"Benjen lies only when he has to spare someone's feelings," Amelia said, wondering briefly what had happened between the two. "I am going North, Nick, and if you insist on going to Pentos then... please try and find Lyria and get her to meet with Faeron. I will be speaking to Janelle Reed soon about this. From what I have heard of her powers she will be able to tell us more."

"His men killed my sister," he said flatly. "He had four people with him in the east and he didn't know that one of them killed my own god damn sister. Fuck Westeros, fuck him, and fuck anyone who defends him." He listens to the last request. "I'll be sure to tell Lyria about it though. She needs somewhere safe to hide." He narrows his eyes. "So keep her away from the goddam Ironborn. Even if they're in your bed." He pulls some breeches on as he talks.

Amelia studied Nick for a long moment, before her mien became very, very passive. "You're as bad as him, you know that? But I understand. Good bye, Nick. Don't come back." She turned and left the tent.

"Take the wildfire," he said. "The men will need it if there are really dead men," he offered to part. Then he began packing all his life's possessions up.

A note is left outside Nick Snow's tent before he leaves.

Robyn looks at it, to see who p, if anyone it is addressed to, she'd not want to read someone else's note.
