She scowled. "More what? Northmen? Or do you mean Redwyne's people? My brother spoke of them. He said Redwyne could raise the dead."

"Morel prisoners," he said. "Dozens more."

She felt a sense of disquiet. It seemed odd that so many prisoners would be released at once. "Are they far behind you?"

"No," he said. "I think he is bringing them from his ships."a

Harwyn scoffed as the conversation went on. "The Starks intend to pressure us into releasing lady Karstark and others in return. Perhaps we shall do the same, in similar condition."

The man seems uncomfortable with that but is silent.

Killion watched the proceedings in silence, seething. It was ill done of the Stark prince, especially if he intended for any progress to be made in the peace talks. Had he asked for Lady Karstark, prince to prince, he would have happily arranged her return in good faith. To open negotiations with the mutilation of his men seemed counterproductive to ensuring the woman's safe return.

Spotting Killion, Harwyn approached his prince. "A poor move by the Starks. Let me return Karstark on the same terms."

"No, I will see what he has to say at the peace talks first." Killion replied, gritting his teeth as he stared at the man's mangled feet and hands. "Then decide the appropriate response."

The man responds to Harwyn. "Lord Kalvin. He sends an invitation to discuss it for some lord," he said. The wounds do seem curiously old.

Harwyn smirks at the man's response. "Let me guess. Lord Harwyn Goodbrother?"

"No, my lord. The lord captain, as it were. He said no one asks a dog what it's master wants."

"I'm touched Lord Kalvin went through so much trouble just to get my attention." Killion replied, though with no hint of amusement. He set out for Kalvin's tent alone, but certainly armed and armored.

Lord Kalvin's tent is being emptied, but the lord sits in some sort of meditation. "Prince Killion," he said happily. "Nice to put a face to the name."
