The guard blinked at him, taking in his appearance, then hesitantly entered the tent and emerged a few minutes later. He was admitted into a 'room' that served as a solar for the lady, furnished with a few armchairs, tables and a chest or two. Lady Joanna, clad in rich reds and golds, just raised an eyebrow at the man.

"Lady Joanna, you surely are too young to remember me." He took a seat even not been invited to. "I am Lord Orson Banefort, the true Lord of the Banefort."
"For three decades I've been away from my rulership, but now i've finally come back to serve you."

"I do not remember you, but I have heard of you," she said, though was still skeptical whether this man was even who he said he was. "If you don't mind me asking for it.. how do I know you are Lord Banefort?" she inquired.

"There's no proof, my lady..."
He said turning his drowsy eyes looking around the tent.
"But I can show you how useful I could be in your service."

Maekar arrives before the trident tourney, in full armor. As he walks up, he does his best to shout, his disturbing voice worse with volume. "Lord Maekar to see Lady Arania." He walks past the guards, shooting each of them a quick look as he opens the tent flap.

The young ruler of the Reach is sleeping on a reclining chair, but she opens just one eye to smile. "Lord Maekar! How handsome you look today! How is my sister?"

He cracks a smile,"Ali and I are surprisingly good for each other, though the zealotry is a bit tiresome at times." He looked down at his armor and his pale face turned slightly pink,"Good looking isn't the point of armor, but it's a perk I'm happy to have."

"Charity is not zealotry, but I know what you mean. Tournament armor is supposed to see the onlookers into believing they are part of a legend. Yours does that," she says approvingly. "How is the rebuilding?"

Maekar grunted,"The smallfolk fear me, maybe I'm the villain of this particular story." He gave a dismissive shrug and shake of his head,"Rebuilding is a costly. but ultimately essential affair. Highgarden was already being brought back to life before I arrived, so the castle is mostly finished." He silently counted on his fingers for a second, stopping on his second hand. "We had to tear out seven different rubble patches, the defenders during the rebellion didn't have much time for artistry or engineering."

"What a fitting number," she muttered. "I'm glad to hear it. Peace may be coming to Westeros," she said, "at least for a while. With your castle rebuilt I need to focus some attention to the Arbor now."

The Lord of Highgarden suddenly remembered why he had come, the flattery had taken him off balance,"When I was last in Oldtown, we discussed plans regarding the Ironborn. How exactly did your stance turn so quickly, and we still haven't brought the Shield Islands or Fair Isle back into the fold."

Arania shrugged. "A cheaper solution presented itself. Our fleet will not be ready for two years. Rebuilding Highgarden and the ruined Mander castles has cost thousands and thousands of gold coins I can ill afford, and Fair isle has been lost for forty years or more. The Arbor is the powerhouse island. And better to deal with the Ironborn when they need peace than to continue wasting gold we don't have for ships we cannot crew for an island we couldn't have afforded to rebuild." She opens a book and taps a map. "Losing the Shields is painful but a cost of our divided attention during Lord Rycherd's rebellion."

He sighed, but followed it up with a laugh. "I've heard that his nephew stylizes himself as the former heir to Highgarden, have you heard any rumblings from Brightwater. Or if they are planning something?"

Arabia rolled her eyes. "Why do you think I picked you to rule Highgarden? That boy is too close to his uncle. But let him plot," she said. "Or more accurately let his mother plot. My spies are everywhere."
