"Aye, I'm Ragnar Drumm, Lord of Old Wyk," Ragnar said. "Lord of the Shield Islands too." He put out a hand to shake hands with Lord Sunglass. "Well met."

Sunglass has no innate problem with the Ironborn so he shakes it. "Sounds like a busy title." At the table, a woman is seated, overlooking everyone. She eyes the new arrivals with curiosity but says nothing for now. She is pretty, with tanned skin and light brown hair, and Killion recognizes some of her features vaguely for some reason. "Eliza Satarys," the lord remarks. "Don't make that one upset."

Ragnar eyed the woman with much curiosity. He found her attractive but chances were that was as far as it would go. "Does she hold a position of power?"

"And I'm Quentyn Cleftjaw, of the Stepstones." Quentyn adds. He nods to the seated woman, then turns to Sunglass. "Looks and sounds like you've got a fair number of women running things, here. Interesting."

Killion studied the woman, trying to determine why she seemed so familiar as his lords inquired about her.

Killion can't recall it for now, and he knows he's never seen her before, but the name Satarys is old Pentoshi nobility. Franklin nods. "They call her the Mistress of Shadows." Ales arrive. "Queen Alyssa sees no reason to discriminate; whoever can do a job can make his or her own way here." He gestures vauely. "I'm not entirely sure I agree, but I don't make it a habit to argue with results."

Ragnar picked up a drink. "It depends on the woman, I suspect. My own wife is a capable woman, my sister too, but that doesn't mean I'd want just any woman in a position of power. Though to be sure there are men who don't belong in power either."
He continued to watch the Mistress of Shadows.
"Is it not strange, taking orders from a queen in place of a king?"

"Not from this one," he said. "I wouldn't live two days in the jungles. She survived eleven months."

"Shit!" Ragnar had never spent time in a jungle but he knew it was not the sort of place he'd ever want to be. Such a woman should have been Ironborn, truly." He winked at Killion. "We need more such women on the Islands, don't we"

Sunglass takes a seat. The woman looks to them. "We always get such facinating visitors," she said. "Vhagus send them, or Sirius?" She sips her wine with amusement. "Their desperation looks badly on them."

"Sirius?" Killion inquired, answering her question by process of elimination as he took a seat. "I am surprised you receive so many visitors in this far-flung realm. I take it that it is not just because of your warm hospitality?"

"Targaryen," she said. "The dragon brothers do not wish us well." She shrugs. "But we are sworn to their destruction, so it only makes sense."

"I am curious why they do not simply burn you from these lands personally." he gritted his teeth, at the thought of his ally's deception. After Tyrosh, he would have happily killed these men of Vhagus had honestly asked him to do so rather than bait him into these waters with visions of silver. "Why send pawns?"

"They are afraid of our queen, I think," Eliza said. "But they also desire her power."

"What power would men with dragons have need to fear?" he asked, unsure if he wanted an answer. He had hoped for disorganized corsairs and had been met with a fledgling kingdom of capable killers.
