From Goldengrove, Lord Jaymes's western army marches south towards Highgarden. Resistance is sparse from the Tyrells. About a weeks' ride north of Highgarden they camp.

///
Following the battle of Highgarden, twelve thousand men besiege the castle, setting up proper siege gear. Lord Lefford takes a force of cavalry, and walking wounded, to Old Oak to convince Lord Oakheart to come to terms and to reopen the coastal supply lines. Tomas walks over to his stepbrother. "Damn, Jaymes, you've turned into a fucking warrior lately1"

Korben walked with the wounded, his greataxe drapped over his shoulder as he looks to help any man who may fall or stumble on their way to Old Oak. He nears where Jaymes Lannister is, and tries to easedrop a bit on the conversation, curious what it's about.

OOC: If you're with the wounded, I don't think you're with us at the siege

/// Following the battle of Highgarden, twelve thousand men besiege the castle, setting up proper siege gear. Lord Lefford takes a force of cavalry, and walking wounded, to Old Oak to convince Lord Oakheart to come to terms and to reopen the coastal supply lines. Tomas walks over to his stepbrother. "Damn, Jaymes, you've turned into a fucking warrior lately1" While at first they had been unfit to besiege the castle due to a destroyed supply wagon, Jaymes could now rejoice that 5,000 dead and 10,000 wounded men later, they were finally ready to set up proper siege gear. "I know right," he said, grinning. "Sheer luck, though, what else. Although I was most surprised at Commander Jessica Tyrell's appearance. Who knew she had that in her." Then, he lifted the wineskin he'd been drinking from for a toast. "For our wounded brothers heading to Old Oak. May their travels be safe from the omnipresent Ironborn. These bastards seem to be popping out of nowhere nowadays," he muttered, more to himself, and sipped some more wine.

"Nowhere, indeed. The advantage of having uncontested control of the ocean," Tomas said. "That bastard Tyrell will be back it sounds like. Roaches never die until you smash their nest." He returned the toast. In the background the palatial grounds of Highgarden smoldered.

"Well, then we better find a way in there before he does," said Jaymes, and sent scouts to look for alternate ways into the castle, or any weaknesses in its walls (under the cover of the night, of course).

Highgarden is very powerful, and there are no easily exploitable weaknesses yet. The north wall is a bit weak but another assault will still cost thousands of men until the siege equipment is dealt with.

Ser Tomas summons Ser Korben. "Kenning, I hear you're a stout fighter. I need you to do some reconnaissance with a band of men. Fucking Tyrell is supposed to be trying to reform his host at Summerhall. He's going to be coming straight here to rescue his pretty lady, bet your ass on it. We need to know how many men he can winkle out of that dusty priest."

Korben looked towards Ser Tomas, nodding his head at the order, "I'll get his troop numbers, and anything else he might be trying to bring with him. How many men am I riding with?" He asked, wanting to know the number to best plan out the scout.

"Fifty. Fastest men we can find. He won't let us tarry here long, not if he wants to hold the Reach." Tomas narrowed his eyes. "If you see his scouts you make them pay."
